San Jose, 3. Juli 2006 (aktiencheck.de AG) - Der unabhängige US-Stromerzeuge Calpine Corp. (ISIN US1313471062/ WKN 902918), der seit Ende 2005 unter Chapter 11 operiert, meldete am Montag, dass sich sein Verlust im ersten Quartal mehr als verdreifacht hat, was mit einem deutlichen Umsatzrückgang zusammenhängt.
Der Nettoverlust belief sich demnach auf 589,4 Mio. Dollar bzw. 1,23 Dollar pro Aktie, nach einem Fehlbetrag von 168,7 Mio. Dollar bzw. 38 Cents pro Aktie im Vorjahr. Der Umsatz ging im Berichtszeitraum um 34 Prozent auf 1,36 Mrd. Dollar zurück.
Der kalifornische Energiekonzern hat Ende Dezember 2005 angesichts von Schulden in Höhe von über 22 Mrd. Dollar einen Antrag auf Gläubigerschutz nach Chapter 11 gestellt.

Calpine Sells Turbines, Generators for $112 Million at Auction
SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) -- Power producer Calpine Corp., which is operating under bankruptcy protection, on Tuesday said it has sold 10 turbines and generators at auction for about $112 million.
The equipment sales are part of a plan to divest excess inventory, an effort that "enhances liquidity and lowers costly storage charges," said Chief Executive Robert P. May.

sinvolle" Projekte investieren. Leider muß ich seit Wochen beobachten, das alles, was diesen Ruf genießt nur noch abschmiert.
und dann mit der Insobude Calpine als Idee kommt, und meint, das sei eine "Investition",
der sollte sein Geld lieber gleich im Ofen verbrennen.
Alternativ kannst er es auch einem Ökofonds reinstecken.
Der braucht auch sicher keine Anlageempfehlungen, da hast du recht.
Somit könntest du auch auf solche widersprüchlichen Anfragen getrost verzichten.
Vermutlich wirst du auch nie verstehen, dass die profitablesten ökologischen (!!) Investitionen auf längere Sicht die Einspareffekte bei Energieverbrauch und Co2-Ausstoß im privaten Bereich sind.
Und da du dich in bester Gesellschaft von Milliarden ähnlicher Durchblicker befindest,
werden wir in 20 Jahren nur noch für die Energierechnung arbeiten -- wenn überhaupt.
