Keith Hill, Africa Oil's President and Chief Executive Officer, commented, "The acquisition of Lion consolidates our interest in the East African rift basins in Kenya and Puntland (Somalia). The cash portion of the deal will further strengthen our balance sheet to allow us to fully fund the upcoming aggressive exploration drilling campaign."

Range Resources says production at Russell Bevly well stabilizing after successful fraccing
8:11 am by Andre Lamberti The production rates being achieved at Russell Bevly are consistent will the targeted rate Range Resources (LON:RRL, ASX:RRS) said production on the Russell Bevly # 1 well at the North Chapman Ranch project in Texas has begun to stabilize following the successful fracture stimulation of the lower two pay zones, which was announced two weeks ago.
The production rates being achieved are consistent will the targeted rate of 4 million cubic feet a day (MMcfd) and 320 barrels of oil per day (bopd) per well, based on current production of approximately 1.9 MMcfd & 160 bopd from the lower two zones.
The upper two zones, which have a larger payzone, are still on track to receive fracture stimulation later this month.
Executive director Pete Landau said: "Results to date from the Russell-Bevly frac job have provided encouragement for additional development drilling in the field, which will continue with the drilling of the third well in the coming months. Because North Chapman Ranch wells have a high condensate yield, Range and its partners are able to capture currently high oil prices while remaining positioned for the eventual rise in US natural gas prices."
Range holds a 25 percent interest in the initial Smith #1 well and 20 percent interest in further wells on the North Chapman Ranch project. Drilling of the first well has resulted in a commercial discovery with independently assessed gross recoverable reserves in place on a 100 percent basis of 240 billion cubic feet (Bcf) of natural gas, 18 million barrels (mmbbls) of oil and 17 mmbbls of natural gas liquids.
Range holds a 21.75 percent interest in the East Texas Cotton Valley Prospect in Red River County, Texas, USA, with the prospect's project area encompassing approximately 1,570 acres including a recent oil discovery. Independently assessed gross recoverable reserves in place on a 100 percent basis are estimated at 5.4 mmbbls of oil.
In Puntland in Somalia, Range holds a 20 percent working interest in two licences encompassing the highly prospective Dharoor and Nugaal valleys with the operator and 45 percent interest holder Africa Oil Corp (CVE:AOI) planning to drill two wells in 2011.
In the Republic of Georgia, Range holds a 40 percent farm-in interest in onshore blocks VIa and VIb. Consultants RPS Energy identified 68 potential structures containing an estimated 2.045 billion barrels of oil-in-place.
In Trinidad, Range is acquiring a 10 percent interest in holding companies with three onshore production licenses. Independently assessed gross recoverable 2P reserves in place are estimated at 4.8 mmbls.
Sorry that should have read
Edison missed this
We have 50% now farmed down to 40% of Georgia 2 Blocks
But we will also own 20% of the other 40% of the current 2 blocks
by aquiring 50% of Strait Oil the company as well so 60% of the current 2 Blocks.
Also
Strait have just won a 3rd block, block VIII so we will automatically
own 50% of the 3rd block, block VIII by owning 50% of Strait Oil.
"This relates to Range Resource’s prepayment for an investment in 50% of the unlisted UK Company Strait Oil & Gas (UK) Limited,
along with the prepayment for an investment in 10% of a holding company with production licenses in Trinidad. Details of these
transactions are shown below:
(i) Georgia
The terms of the agreement with Strait Oil & Gas (UK) Limited includes the issue of 70m ordinary shares and 70m listed
options ($0.05, 31 December 2011) upon various milestones. In addition, to earn the 50% of Strait Oil & Gas (UK)
Limited, Range was required to complete Phase II of the relevant Production Share Agreement applicable to the two Oil
and Gas blocks, comprising mainly the completion of 350km of seismic and well selection. As at 30 June 2010, Phase II
was completed and 40 million of the shares and options had been issued due to milestones having been met."

TEXASUPDATE
NORTH CHAPMAN RANCH
International oil and gas exploration, development and production company,
Range Resources Limited ("Range" or "the Company") is pleased to announce that
the fracture stimulation program has recommenced on the North Chapman Ranch
project, with the arrival on site of leading fracture stimulation specialists -
Frac Tech.
The largest zone (second from top) on the Russell Bevly well is currently being
fracture stimulated with initial results looking promising. Once successfully
completed, Frac Tech will move across to the Smith #1 well and frac the upper
zone, which was perforated on March 18 and this zone currently flowing at more
than 1.3 MMcfd.
Frac Tech will then move off site and look to return in the comings weeks to
complete the fracture stimulation of any remaining zones in the Smith and
Russell Bevly wells.
Consistent with past fracture stimulations performed within the region, this
program is expected to add to the success of the lower two zone frac of the
Russell Bevly well and further improve flow rates and recovery, which should
significantly increase cashflow from the field.
Range will provide further updates in due course.

Range Resources hopes to improve flow rates AIM-quoted oil and gas producer Range Resources says that fracture stimulation specialist Frac Tech has recommenced operations at the North Chapman Ranch project in Texas, which should improve flow rates and cash generation.
21 Mar 2011 - 15:13 AIM-quoted oil and gas producer Range Resources says that fracture stimulation specialist Frac Tech has recommenced operations at the North Chapman Ranch project in Texas, which should improve flow rates and cash generation. The fracture stimulation should also improve recovery rates - based on the experience of other zones in the area. Drilling continues on the Ross 3H #1 well in the East Texas Cotton Valley property. "Electric logs and sidewall cores confirm approximately 130 feet of gross oil pay in the objective section", according to the company. Range also has interests in Africa and Georgia. Range has drawn down a further £7.26m of its £20m equity line facility with First Columbus. That involves the issue of 42m shares at 17.3p each.
In Georgia, in Eastern Europe, Range acquired a 100 per cent interest in Blocks V1a and VIb which cover about 7,000 sq km where RPS Energy identified 68 prospects with combined oil-in- place of 2 billion barrels. Of the 68, six have been prioritised as a drill-ready with a gross oil-in- place estimate of 728 million barrels.
First, Range and its partner in Georgia, Strait Oil & Gas, announced that they had signed an agreement with ASX-listed Red Emperor Resources to acquire a 20 per cent farm-in interest in both Georgia blocks comprising a 10 per cent interest in each from Range and Strait. This is a good deal for Range given that it reduces the company’s financial exposure to initial exploration drilling from 100 per cent to 60 per cent whilst ceding only 10 per cent of its interests in the licences.
Second, early results from a helium study on the top three multi-stacked prospects identified by international geochemical company Actual Geology International (AGI) came in. The technology used by AGI monitors helium gas emanating from beneath the ground towards the earth’s surface. Helium is ten times more soluble in oil and 150 times more soluble in gas than in strata water, so abnormally high concentrations of helium gas (helium anomalies) in subsoil air can indicate the presence of hydrocarbon deposits in underlying formations. The three prospects looked at are estimated to contain over 450 million barrels of gross oil-in-place. Although the study is not finalised, these preliminary findings are an important development in that they support RPS Energy’s initial valuation of Blocks V1a and V1b and further de-risk the three drillable prospects.
Third, Range has announced that a drilling rig has been secured for the Georgian drilling programme. The company has entered into an agreement with Edeco Petroleum Services to provide the drilling rig, with operations currently underway on preparing and servicing the rig and associated inventory in readiness for mobilisation, currently scheduled to start this month ( March 11) with spudding in April.

Good Luck, Mikro

RNS: Texas
9.2 MMcf of gas and approximately
769 bbls + of oil per day.
This is great news and indicates PL's statement of North Chapman Ranch
20 wells flowing 4 Mcf Gas and 500 - 1000 bbls of oil per day is a realistic prospect.
