Zecotek signs licensing LOI with Fujikura

ZECOTEK SIGNS LETTER OF INTENT WITH FUJIKURA LTD. OF JAPAN FOR MANUFACTURING AND DISTRIBUTION OF KEY ZECOTEK PRODUCTS
Zecotek Medical Systems Inc. has signed a letter of intent (LOI) with Fujikura Ltd. of Japan to negotiate terms of a proposed business partnership which would feature the manufacture and distribution of certain technologies and products, including Zecotek's new line of fibre lasers and a detector block consisting of Zecotek's proprietary solid-state photo detectors and LFS scintillation crystals.
"We consider our fibre laser technologies to be leading edge and we are very pleased that Fujikura shares our enthusiasm," said Dr. A.F. Zerrouk, chairman, president, and chief executive officer of Zecotek. "Fujikura is the world leader in fibre development and manufacturing and, with its strong brand and global distribution network in the scientific, industrial and consumer sectors, represents an outstanding partner for Zecotek to pursue the rapidly growing fibre laser market. We will also look to Fujikura's manufacturing expertise to complete the commercialization of other key products, notably our photo detector arrays for medical and non-medical imaging."
The LOI calls for both parties to lay the groundwork for a joint relationship whereby Zecotek and Fujikura would collaborate on a continuing basis in the manufacture and commercialization of a number of Zecotek's products. Under terms to be agreed, Fujikura could contribute capital investment, technical support and manufacturing know-how for certain products that can be licensed for manufacture and distribution by Fujikura or under a joint venture arrangement. The LOI calls for a period of three months to conclude negotiations during which time both parties have agreed not to solicit alternative proposals.

Ich habe Ihnen immer gesagt, dass der "grüne Fiberlaser" ein weiterer "Bringer" werden wird und das bewahrheitet sich schneller als auch von mir erwartet! Denn schon kurz nach der Fertigentwicklung dieses Speziallasers wird schon ein erster Vorvertrag geschlossen und nicht mit Hinz und Kunz aus Drübsdrü, sondern mit einem echten Industriegiganten, nämlich Fujikura aus Japan! (Marktwert 1,75 Mrd. Euro)
Fujikura, ist der Weltmarktführer in dieser Branche!
Noch viel wunderbarer für die Aktionäre ist allerdings ein Nebensatz:

...was übersetzt so viel heißt, dass Fujikura beabsichtigt ein direktes Investment in Zecotec zu tätigen!
Warum will ein Milliardenunternehmen wie Fujikura einen Laser vom "Zwerg" Zecotek produzieren und warum stellt dieser Milliardengigant die Absicht in den Raum in diesen Winzling zu investieren?
Ganz einfach, weil Zecotek die weltbeste Technologie hat und ein Produkt hat, dass der Weltmarktführer nicht im Portfolio hat!

Alles was an News kommt, unterstützt zumindest seit nun vielen Wochen intensiv meine Meinung, dass Zecotek eine Perle ist, goldiger als viele Goldminen-Aktien - obwohl beim Goldpreis doch die Luzie abgeht!

(TSX VENTURE:ZMS - News; FRANKFURT:W1I - News) today announced that the Malaysian Institute for Micro-electronics Systems (MIMOS), Malaysia's premier center for advanced micro-electronics technology and manufacturing based in Kuala Lumpur, has successfully completed the first commercial production run of the company's new-generation Micro-pixel Avalanche Photo Diodes (MAPD) solid-state photo detectors. First-run production samples are being delivered to key customers in both medical imaging and high-energy physics for further testing.

"The first production runs of our MAPD-2 and MAPD-3 were produced with excellent yields and at a cost that gives Zecotek a significant advantage over competing products. We are confident that with its cost and performance advantages, Zecotek's MAPD will rapidly become the gold standard in photo-detection."
Zecotek's patented MAPD's have been designed in several configurations to offer significant performance and cost advantages over the current photo-multiplier vacuum tubes (PMT) and existing solid state photo-detectors. The MAPD-2 addresses specific, high-demand requirements in high-energy physics such as particle accelerators where PMT's are vulnerable to the magnetic environment created by the superconducting magnets used in the collimation of particle tracks. The MAPD-3 meets required specifications for advanced, high resolution PET (Positron Emission Tomography) scanners and gamma camera applications, particularly when matched with Zecotek's patented LFS scintillation materials. Zecotek is focused on bringing to market a cost effective, mass produced MAPD's with consistent key performance parameters, such as high linearity and timing resolution, essential for "time of flight" design configurations used in next generation, high resolution PET medical scanners.
Pre-production MAPD's, developed in Zecotek's own labs, were successfully tested by a number of third-party entities including the University of Washington, which demonstrated that Zecotek's MAPD's, in combination with its patented LFS scintillation crystal, outperformed current PMT's in critical imaging parameters.
"Our laboratory has been using Zecotek's prototype MAPD-2 and MAPD-3 devices in our designs for high-resolution detectors for pre-clinical positron emission tomography (PET) scanners and a PET insert for magnetic resonance (MRI) scanners," reported Dr. Thomas Lewellen, Professor of Radiology and Director of Physics and Instrumentation Development in Nuclear Medicine at the University of Washington and a member of Zecotek's Advisory Board. "We look forward to implementing the improved, production version of the MAPD in our scanning systems. We believe that a solid-state replacement for photomultipliers, such as the MAPD, is essential for a wide range of important detector design advances and for future PET development in particular."
Most solid state photo-detectors developed in the past few years are generally based on the MAPD-1 design concept, originally developed and patented by Prof. Zair Sadygov, Chief Scientist at Zecotek. Zecotek has built on this design concept and completed the development of the MAPD-2 and MAPD-3 versions which are compatible with large scale manufacture without compromising the operational characteristics requested by the imaging industries.
PMT based photo-detection devices form a major cost component in the US$1 billion market for PET and PET-CT scanners, representing approximately one-third of the cost of each unit. Existing PMT's are also key components of medical inspection devices used in blood analysis and DNA sequencing. Additional non-medical applications include: gamma ray detectors for homeland security, environmental monitoring, industrial control systems, robotics, biomedical testing, navigation and guidance systems, laser radars and high-energy physics.

Bedenke, dass es ja relativ schnell und massiv nach oben gehen kann, wenn z.B. die fachmännischen Urteile über die Kristalle sowie den 3D so enthusiastisch ausfallen, wie Zerrouk in diversen Aussagen angekündigt hat.
Sollten dann Kurse kommen, die für die institutionellen Anleger interessant sind - ja dann ist für mich bei 3 € noch lange nicht das Ende der Fahnenstange erreicht.

ZECOTEK'S ADVANCED DYE LASER SELECTED BY GWANGJU INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY, KOREA
Zecotek Medical Systems Inc. has sold a CW single-frequency ring Dye laser system to Korea's prestigious Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) for high-precision laser spectroscopy in its Advanced Photonics Research Institute. GIST was established in 1993 by the Republic of Korea to meet the nation's needs for advanced research and to take a leading role in performing research and development with industry sectors.
"We are very pleased that Korea's prestigious Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology has selected our CW Dye laser for their advanced spectroscopy program, following a highly competitive international selection process," said Dr. A.F. Zerrouk, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Zecotek. "This is an excellent endorsement of both the technical superiority and cost effectiveness of our new lines of laser products."
Zecotek's frequency-stabilized CW single-frequency ring Dye laser, model DYE-SF-077, is a further development of model DYE-SF-07, which includes a new system of frequency stabilization based on a thermo-stabilized interferometer and a fast electronic driver. This model provides a line width of less than 100 kilohertz, setting a new standard for commercial dye lasers, where previously the narrowest available line-width was 500 kilohertz to one megahertz.
