Ein paar Statements noch zu den jüngsten news:

• Kiamika ist eines der 4 Projekte von Standard Graphite, das im Westen von Quebec lokalisiert ist. Die vier Projekte liegen alle im Central Metasedimentary Becken in der Grenville Provinz, die für historische Graphitvorkommen bekannt ist. Aufgrund der niedrigen Graphitpreise wurde die Aktivität in dieser Region im letzten Jahrzehnt stark zurück gefahren, das wird sich jetzt ändern.
• Standard ist auf Kiamika auf zwei signifikante, mineralisierte Struktur (conductor) gestoßen. Der erste conductor ist knapp 3,5km lang und verläuft an der östlichen Projektgrenze entlang. Der zweite conductor liegt in der Projektmitte und hat eine Länge von ca. 750m.
• Die gefundenen Strukturen weisen höhere elektromagnetische Werte nahe zu durchgehend auf. Sie lassen darauf schließen, dass graphithaltige Mineralisierungen schon knapp unter der Erdoberfläche verlaufen.

• Ground Programs sollen im Juni auch auf den Quebec gestartet werden.
• Synergieeffekte: Kiamika liegt nur 32km von Standard's fortgeschrittesten Projekt Mousseau East entfernt
• Die Ergebnisse der noch ausstehenden EM-Gutachten für Notre Dame, Preston und 31 Milles werden in den nächsten Wochen erwartet

Noch halte ich bei beiden aber Spaß machts nicht!
Werde mich nun aus diesem Thread bis nach dem Sommer verabschieden.

Graphitsektor: Ist die Party schon vorbei?

Nachdem Graphitaktien im ersten Quartal 2012 nur eine Richtung kannten, gingen sie Anfang April in eine heftige Korrektur über. Seither haben sich viele Graphitaktien halbiert, einige haben sogar noch mehr an Unternehmenswert eingebüßt. Doch was hat sich an der Graphitstory seit dem ersten Quartal verändert? An der übergeordneten Makrostory, die eine steigende Nachfrage und eine Angebotsverknappung erwarten lässt, hat sich nichts verändert. Wie in jedem Trendsektor ist die Volatilität hoch und es kommt nach starken Kursanstiegen zu scharfen Korrekturen. Das ist für die mittel- und langfristige Entwicklung keinesfalls negativ zu sehen, so wird ein gesunder Trend gebildet..

• Graphite, often referred to as the “highest grade of coal” is an allotrope of carbon. Unlike coal, graphite is a mineral that conducts electricity and heat, is self-lubricating and has a melting point of over 3,600 degrees Celsius. These characteristics allow graphite to have a range of specialised and growing applications due to the mineral’s unique properties.

• Natural graphite supply looks uncertain with 73% of natural graphite production coming from China, where there is strong growth in domestic graphite demand. In recent months there has been an outbreak of activ-ity by junior graphite explorers, particularly in Canada, however, there are few graphite projects coming onstream in the near future. Over the longer term a scenario of oversupply looks possible, but only if these various new projects can get funded.

• Demand for natural graphite appears to be growing, especially from China. The steel industry is currently the largest consumer of natural graphite as it is used in steel refractories. China’s steel demand increased by close to 8% in 2011 and is likely to continue to grow in 2012. In addition, China’s nuclear power pro-gramme plans to introduce 30 Pebble Bed Nuclear Reactors by 2020 (totalling 6 gigawatts (GW)) that will require 18,000 to 30,000 tonnes of natural graphite a year, once in production. By 2050, China plans togenerate 300 GW from Pebble Bed Reactors, adding to the future uncertainty of China’s willingness to export graphite. In addition, the increase in green technologies, in particular lithium-ion batteries which use more graphite than lithium, is also positive for graphite demand.

In this review we analyse the outlook for graphite, and introduce the very large numbers of juniors, many of them Canadian, who have been drawn by the growth potential of this commodity. Demand for graphite continues to grow in line with other steel industry raw materials, but graphite offers other,potentially more exciting, growth stories in Pebble Bed Nuclear Reactors and as electrodes in lithium-ion batteries. Graphite has been cited by both the US and European Authorities as a strategic mineral, as the bulk of supply comesfrom China. In line with other strategic minerals Chinese exports are under pressure as domestic infrastructure is built to transform its industry to become a major supplier of end product, rather than just the commodity. Exploration success is already starting to be reported in Canada, Sweden and Madagascar, so subject to funding, any graphite supply shortfall could be met over time. Nevertheless in the short term, this new hot commodity may still be aninteresting ride.

"Standard Graphite Corp (SGH - TSX-V)

This early stage company controls a 100% interest in 12 exploration licenses in prospective graphite properties located in known graphite districts in both Quebec and Ontario.

Standard Graphite has completed their airborne survey on their three Ontario properties. After raising $1.5 million in January 2012, the company is hoping to survey their remaining properties and to start drilling this summer.

The majority of their projects are underexplored. However, the Black Donald property in Ontario surrounds the old Black Donald Graphite Mine where historic drilling has shown grades of 10.7ft (3.2 metres (m)) @ 5.8% graphitic carbon. Additionally, their Little Bryan site in Ontario has trench results that include 6m @ 5.15% graphitic carbon."

Graphene: An East vs. West Battle

In the ever more competitive world economy there are many ongoing technology wars between competitors in individual countries and competitors cross continents. One of the most interesting ‘conflicts’ has been emerging around graphene, the wonder mono-dimensional material derived from graphite. As in many of the technology wars, the one over graphene dominance is shaping around an ‘East’ vs. ‘West’ dimension. Graphene was discovered by Russian scientists at the University of Manchester, but the new wonder material has found much interest in Asia; specifically at Samsung in Korea. Samsung has recently introduced graphene transistors. Their advantage is their thinness and increased conductivity. Until now, researchers had not been able to adequately control the flow of current; in other words, the current would be constantly ‘on’  (transistor act as a “switchable gate” controlling the current flow)..

Graphite Demand for Batteries to Increase as Ultra-Fast Electric Vehicle Charging System under Development

The market for full electric vehicles (EV’s), as opposed to hybrid ones, has been slower than expected. Analysts and manufacturers had predicted higher demand in view of the growing prices for petroleum based fuels. Cars like the Nissan Leaf or even semi-hybrid vehicles such as the Chevrolet Volt have shown disappointing sales results – so much so that GM, for instance, suspended sales of the Volt last March for a several weeks, laying-off over 1,000 employees.  The main reason for the sluggish result, however, has been identified. Recharging technology has failed to keep up with battery technology. Most EV’s require at least eight hours of charging time from a standard domestic socket in North America. Even the available special chargers available as optional equipment on premium EV’s such as the Tesla Roadster still need charging times measures in hours rather than minutes, though there are fast charge ‘columns’ that are capable of limiting the charge time to 30 minutes, though these are not available in a standard garage in the suburbs – let alone a downtown condominium..

Why Graphite is One of the Few Places For Savvy Investors to Make Money

May was quite simply a nightmare month for investors.

The ASX200 lost 7.3% in a month – its worst result in 2 years. Half the market is still shell shocked. So this Queen’s birthday long weekend gives us a welcome breather.

With the good ship China creaking and groaning as it decelerates, resource stocks were some of the worst effected. The ASX300 Metals and Mining index (XMM) lost 12%.

Most hedge funds lost money. Despite clever trading strategies, the average hedge fund lost 1.6% in May according to analysts Hedge Fund Research Inc.

So with this backdrop, it was a very unlikely time for my latest Diggers & Drillers tip to gain 154% during the month…

Das funktioniert irgendwie nicht :/!

Zum Kurs: heute deutlich mehr Volumen, auch wenn da ganz schön verkauft wird.. eben über 25 k... Schade, der Markt sieht da eine etwas andere Situation als wir hier im Thread. Ob sich das ändern wird, bleibt weiterhin fraglich.. Eig müsste man, so wie es Tyko oben schon geschrieben hat, erst nach dem Sommer wieder auf die Kurse gucken..

Hoffe wir stehen bis dahin nicht bei unter 0,20 CAD.. ist ein beispielloser Abverkauf gewesen im Graphitsektor!

 

Es wäre das 1. Mal, dass Aktienkurse rational und auf langfristige Aussichten umgehend reagieren ;-)

Die temporäre Aktienkursentwicklung muss überhaupt gar nichts mit dem Unternehmen selber, irgendwelchen news etc. zu tun haben.

Trotzdem ist der Abverkauf schon echt extrem... wäre es im gesamten Graphitsektor nicht ähnlich verlaufen, würde ich mir auch Gedanken machen. Aber selbst dort sind die Werte imo überverkauft, siehe die Vorreiter FMS, FDR und NGC..

Deswegen, ich lehne mich entspannt zurück bei meinen Graphit-Werten! Das wird schon wieder, denke ich!

Lt. Pyramide ist SGH weiter fortgeschritten als manch anderer Explorer wie zB. Energizer Resources.. Scheint nur den Grund zu haben, dass sie auf einer ehemaligen Ressource sitzen (Black Donald glaub ich war das). Oder sehe ich das falsch?

 

Genau, SGH ist aufgrund der historischen Ressource auch unter der Rubrik 'Advanced Projects' eingeordnet.

Diese historische Ressource besitzt das Mousseau East Projekt, das Black Donald Projekt umschließt die ehemalige größte Graphitmine von Nordamerika. 

Der Besitz der historischen Ressource ist bedeutend, da das Projekt bereits einen Minenplan und gute infrastrukturelle Anbindungen besitzt. D.h. dieses Projekt kann SGH relativ zügig Richtung Projekt Development bringen.

Carpe, du hast den besten Durchblick im Sektor bei Ariva (behaupte ich jetzt mal ;))!

Gibt es Explorer die ähnlich wie SGH eine historische Ressource im Portfolio haben? Könnte SGH damit bereits nächstes Jahr in Produktion gehen? Gibt es bereits zu diesen historischen Ressourcen bereits eine Einschätzung der Graphit-Qualität und Menge?
