Intelligence Targeting Access Node
https://insidedefense.com/insider/...telligence-targeting-access-node
The Army today announced it has entered into other transaction authority agreements with Palantir Technologies and Raytheon Intelligence and Space for a critical ground modernization effort.
The agreements total $8.5 million per vendor over a 12-month period of performance, with the first phase informing the development and integration of the Tactical Intelligence Targeting Access Node, according to a Jan. 11 Army press release.
TITAN is the Army's mobile intelligence ground station architecture that will leverage space-based, aerial and terrestrial layer sensors to provide targetable data. The system will provide access to low earth orbit satellites, enable deep sensing and shorten the sensor-to-shooter loop.
"TITAN will feature a modular, open-systems architecture, and will employ analytic tools, including advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML), to assist soldiers and analysts managing large volumes of sensor data at the speed of demand in multidomain operations and across the continuum of competition and conflict," according to the press release.
Phase I of the OTA includes system-level design and software maturation and is "highlighted by a series of design reviews, software demonstrations and soldier touchpoints," the press release states.
One vendor for complete system prototyping will be selected during phase II of the OTA, followed by phase III which will consist of refining prototype capabilities by echelon. Phase IV will prototype and develop the system for the integration of future sensors and technology advancements, according to the release.
The service last September also selected Northrop Grumman to develop two TITAN prototypes that will support upcoming exercises and experiments in FY-22.
The Army plans to use TITAN in future Project Convergence demonstrations once delivered to the field in the fiscal year 2023 to FY-24 timeframe. During the first Project Convergence demonstration last September, the service used a TITAN surrogate to process data from a Gray Eagle drone.

2020 was a great year for software stocks. Software stocks as a group outperformed the S&P 500 by 36 percentage points, the sector's strongest performance in two decades -- but there's a downside to that.
Jefferies analyst Brent Thill points out that valuations in the sector now look "stretched" and there's not a whole lot of potential left for "multiple expansion" among software stocks. While there's still room for certain software names to rise, Thill believes that this will depend on improvement in "fundamentals."
Luckily for Palantir (PLTR) investors, Palantir is one of the companies that Thill thinks have what it takes, and to help lead the sector even higher in 2021.
"We like the unique nature of Palantir's offering for high-end data analytics use cases," writes Thill, predicting that the company will enjoy 30% annual sales growth rates for at least "the next couple of years," and post improved profits on those revenues to boot.
The 5-star analyst calls the company's products "best-of-breed," and cites interviews with Palantir clients who say that the company's products are very usable and also very "sticky" -- indicative of high switching costs that should depress customer churn and deliver pricing power.
Positing a $30 price target (up from $18 previously) and a Buy rating, Thill argues that Palantir stock deserves a premium valuation even relative to other high-growth peer stocks. What does a $30 price target imply for Palantir? Thill says he's assuming Palantir can extract 81% to 82% gross profit margins from sales of $1.4 billion in 2021 and $1.8 billion in 2022. On the bottom line, this should work out to "non-GAAP" (i.e. pro forma) profits of $0.17 per share this year (nearly twice what the company probably earned in 2020) and $0.23 per share next year.
It's important to emphasize, however, that these are not profits as calculated according to generally accepted accounting principles. In fact, most analysts who follow Palantir stock don't expect GAAP profitability to emerge before 2024 at the earliest. As such, Thill isn't able to attach a "P/E" multiple to a stock that has no GAAP "E". Instead, the analyst values the stock on its revenues.
As the analyst admits, his $30 price target assumes investors will be willing to pay a staggering 50 times fiscal 2021 revenues to own Palantir stock, and 39 times fiscal 2022 revenues. This is despite Thill's admitting that he has only "limited revenue visibility" into Palantir's future, and that the company's revenue streams are subject to "lumpiness in quarterly bookings," and at risk of "US government budgetary changes." And again, Thill admits that these valuations represent a "premium" to what even other high-growth software names are fetching.
Thill is the only bull in the picture right now- with the stock displaying a Hold analyst consensus. The 12-month average price target stands at $16.50, marking a 36.5% downside from current levels.

Ground Station Modernization
January 13, 2021 06:59 AM Eastern Standard Time
DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Palantir Technologies Inc. (NYSE:PLTR) announced today the Army (PEO IEW&S) down-selected it to deliver a prototype for the first phase of the Army’s Ground Station modernization in support of the Army’s Tactical Intelligence Targeting Access Node (TITAN) program.
The contract value for this phase is $8.5 million, with a potential contract value of approximately $250 million over all 4 phases. Palantir was awarded a Phase 1 Project Agreement through an Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) with Consortium Management Group, Inc. (CMG) on behalf of Consortium for Command, Control and Communications in Cyberspace (C5).
During the first phase of the effort, Palantir will collaborate with the Army to design and demonstrate the ground station prototype solution for the Army’s TITAN program. The Palantir solution will leverage space, high altitude, aerial, terrestrial sensors and data sources for use in intelligence and military targeting operations. It will field a “turn key” solution for the Army that integrates data from a variety of sources including commercial and classified sources from space to ground sensors.
The results of the first phase of this competitive contract will be used by the Army to inform awarding of future phases and eventual production of the ground station for the TITAN enterprise.
“Palantir’s products were built for just this purpose,” said Doug Philippone, Palantir’s Global Defense lead. “Operators down range need shortened targeting timelines when dealing with near peer threats, and our existing programs create the perfect operating system to accelerate decision-making.”
This ground station modernization effort will field a globally distributed intelligence enterprise to meet the challenge of Joint All-Domain Operations against near peer threats. The overall solution will incorporate data integration, fusion, processing, and analytic capabilities using AI and ML to automate and assist the Army in shortening sensor-to-shooter timeline. This system will provide a comprehensive deployable edge solution to counter global threats in challenging and austere environments to support intelligence and targeting.

Typisch Bankerwahn
