Launch of NeoMedia qode Technology Featured in New Prentice Hall Text Book

'Marketing: Real People, Real Choices' Becomes Interactive via the Mobile Internet

FORT MYERS, Fla. --(BUSINESS WIRE) -- Sept. 6, 2006 -- The launch of qode® technology from NeoMedia Technologies, Inc. (OTC BB: NEOM), which links consumers and cell phones directly to information and offers on the Mobile Internet, will be featured in the new edition of a popular marketing text book from Prentice Hall, a worldwide leader in text book publishing. NeoMedia is an innovator in market-driven technologies, with offices and subsidiary companies in the U.S. and Europe.

"Marketing: Real People, Real Choices," annually used by thousands of college students and hundreds of professors and instructors worldwide, will feature the launch of qode by NeoMedia, including interviews with Rick Szatkowski, vice president of business development for the qode product line, and others in print in the text, and in a video filmed at the company's Fort Myers headquarters.

The fifth edition of "Marketing: Real People, Real Choices," scheduled to be in global distribution in January 2007, is written by Dr. Michael R. Solomon, visiting professor of Marketing, St. Joseph's University, Greg W. Marshall, professor of Marketing and Strategy in the Crummer Graduate School of Business, Rollins College, and Elnora W. Stuart, professor of Marketing and BP Egypt Oil professor of Management Studies at The American University in Cairo. The authors selected five companies and product marketing programs in addition to NeoMedia for the upcoming edition - Tupperware®, Ron Jon Surf ShopK, Darden Restaurants Inc. (the world's largest casual dining restaurant company with brands including Red Lobster™, Olive Garden™, Bahama Breeze™ and Smokey Bones Barbeque & Grill™), and Grendha Shoes Corporation, the U.S. distributor of U.S. brands Rider, Melissa and Grendha.

Worldwide Launch and Go-to-Market Strategy of qode Detailed

"NeoMedia is delighted to have our exciting multi-media launch of qode included with these prestigious international companies and brands," said Mr. Szatkowski. "Taking part in a detailed case study of our go-to-market strategy for qode worldwide - including the challenge of creating and then fulfilling the need for a breakthrough technology-based offering, is exciting and worthwhile. Together with the authors and Prentice Hall, we have made this one of the first interactive textbooks using the Mobile Internet, delivering updated information as well as 'fun' content to the students and professors through their mobile phones."

Representing his co-authors, Dr. Solomon said NeoMedia and qode were chosen for the new edition of their book "because mobile marketing represents and achieves the next level in performance-based marketing.

"qode provides an opportunity for marketers to create a one-to-one marketing experience with the consumer wherever and whenever they are interacting with a product or brand through conventional media," he said. "Responses to 'calls-to-action' become measurable by media channel, providing marketers with the ability to fine-tune their message and channels in real-time. As a case study, the challenge of primary demand creation for qode and the development of partner ecosystems will stimulate professor/student dialog."

Mr. Szatkowski said that making "Marketing: Real People, Reach Choices" the first truly interactive text book is being viewed by Prentice Hall as a pilot program in its internal evaluation of interactive text books. He said the section on NeoMedia will include eight uses of qode - three for information and five for general interest on the Mobile Web. In addition, he said qode will also be used in the Ron Jon and Grendha sections of the text book.

Information on qode is available at www.qode.com, and information on "Marketing: Real People, Real Choices" is available from Prentice Hall (www.prenhall.com)

New World record in Mobile Ticketing Set by DIMOCO and NeoMedia's Gavitec AG - Mobile Digit

10,000-plus Automated Tickets Issued At 'Vienna's World Records Day' on the Prater

FORT MYERS, FLA., and AACHEN, GERMANY, Oct. 5, 2006 -- Teaming with DIMOCO Direct Mobile Communications GmbH of Gebirge, Austria, Gavitec AG - mobile digit, a leading provider of mobile technologies and marketing solutions and a NeoMedia Technologies, Inc. (OTC BB: NEOM) company, has helped set a world record in mobile ticketing.

Gavitec (www.gavitec.com) and DIMOCO (http://www.dimoco.at/at_de/) took part in Vienna's World Records Day, held on the famous Prater on September 19th to showcase attempts at records to be submitted to Guinness® World Records™. Dr. Christian Steinborn, Gavitec's COO, said more than 10,000 automated tickets were issued for the event, including 7,000 tickets which were "validated," making them eligible to establish a world mark in mobile ticketing. "The true benefits of new ticketing technology," he said, "are time- and cost-savings, as well as easy handling for visitors and organizers alike."

"The World Record Day was a day full of records," said Rudolf Ivancsits, international key account manager of DIMOCO. "For the team of DIMOCO, including NeoMedia's Gavitec, we were able to demonstrate that mobile ticketing is able to handle an immense number of visitors."

Automated Ticketing at the World Records Day

Aiming for the record, DIMOCO and Gavitec delivered some 10,000 mobile tickets to mobile phone screens – approximately 7,000 of which were then validated via scanning by Gavitec-mobile digit, using its proprietary EXIO™ system, which is able to change a code into a ticket.

Each of the 10,000 participants in the record-setting effort was registered via SMS, the Internet, or at the event itself, and received a mobile ticket or a participation certificate. The automated tickets, as well as the certificates contained a 2D Datamatrix smartcode, as well as a numerical ID.

"Today, the mobile phone has emerged and evolved to be a permanent companion to consumers of all ages," said Mr. Ivancsits. "A handset offers many additional benefits for their users, now including mobile ticketing and couponing, as well as to the companies moving forward to modernize and offer them."

NeoMedia Technologies reports second-quarter revenue
growth
The company's changing balance sheet was reflected in its net income of $5.13 million compared to a
net loss of $2.3 million last year.
By Riddhi Trivedi-St. Clair
Thursday, August 10, 2006
With the revenue from all its acquisitions now reflected in the bottom line, Southwest Florida-based
NeoMedia Technologies showed a significant revenue growth for the second quarter.
The company reported a 222 percent increase in revenues for the second quarter to $6.6 million, up from
$2.05 million from last quarter. It was also a more than 1,000 percent increase over the same period last
year.
NeoMedia is a provider of technology and mobile marketing solutions.
So far this year, the company's revenues are $8.66 million, 574 percent higher than $1.285 million last
year.
"I am very happy about the numbers," said Chuck Jensen, president and CEO. "We are extremely
pleased with the result of all our acquisitions. They are all moving down the road as we anticipated.
NeoMedia is making great strides."
The companies recognizing revenue for the second quarter include Mobot Inc. of Lexington, Mass.;
Sponge of London, U.K.; Gavitec AG of Wurselen, Germany, 12snap of Munich, Germany; and BSD
Software Inc. of Calgary, Canada.
"What is awesome is 12Snap and Sponge and Gavitec have all had excellent news transactions with a
large breadth of companies and that is continuing to help our revenues," Jensen said.
This includes deals with many national and international com panies that they aren't allowed to name, he
said, like "big soft drink companies or big cell phone manufacturing companies."

NeoMedia Technologies reports second-quarter revenue growth
net loss of $2.3 million last year.
The loss from operations, however, not only continued but grew from $2.16 million to $5.91 million.
For the entire first half of the year, net income was $3.815 million and loss from operations almost
tripled to $10.04 million from $3.54 million last year.
The growing loss from operations is because of its continued investment in "code" and efforts to capture
as great a segment as possible of a growing market, Jensen said.
"Remember we are launching code (this year) so that's an investment," he said. "And it re quires
infrastructure to make it profitable."
