SANDNES, Norway 5 September 2023 – Horisont Energi (EURONEXT: HRGI) and the
energy company PGNiG Upstream Norway (PUN), part of the ORLEN Group, have today
signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) whereby PUN aims to enter as partner and
operator in the only CO2 licence in the Barents Sea - Polaris.

The CO2 exploration licence EXL003 with the project name Polaris Licence is
currently fully controlled by Horisont Energi. The LoI lays the ground for
clearing formalities with authorities necessary for PUN to become operator and
acquire a participating interest in the Polaris Licence. The process of
onboarding PUN is expected to be completed by early December this year.

This LoI is an important milestone in line with the ORLEN Group’s strategic
decision to enter the CO2 storage business, with the Norwegian Continental Shelf
as one of the key markets for its implementation. The Polaris project is thus
the ORLEN Group’s first intended CO2 licence anywhere.

“Joining forces with PGNiG Upstream Norway is an important milestone in our
quest to achieve significant emission reductions and contribute to the emerging
CCS industry. PGNiG Upstream Norway is a robust and qualified partner with
ample operatorship and offshore experience from the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
The new partnership should also help advance our Barents Blue clean ammonia
project by providing accessible CO2 storage capacity. We are excited to join
forces with an experienced and accomplished team,” says Bjørgulf Haukelidsæter
Eidesen, CEO of Horisont Energi.

PUN as partner and operator in Polaris is an important third key element for
Horisont Energi over the last months. The first element was to secure the power
supply for the planned Barents Blue ammonia plant in Northern Norway in June.
The second element was the 50/50 joint development agreement signed with the
European fertiliser company Fertiberia in late August for the joint development
of the Barents Blue ammonia plant. The LoI with PUN covers the Polaris Licence.

“Efficient and safe storage of carbon dioxide is key to maintaining the
competitiveness of industries that are exposed to high emission costs. Cement,
steel and fertilizers producers, if they want to continue operating in Poland,
or more broadly in the European Union, must find a way to manage carbon dioxide
emissions. In line with the ORLEN Group's strategy, over the next few years we
will build strong competence in the area of carbon management. The expertise we
wish to gather partnering with Horisont Energi on the Polaris project will also
be used in Poland. It will allow us to effectively implement proven and safe
technologies of CO2 storage and prepare a competitive offer of carbon
management for Polish industry.” says Daniel Obajtek, CEO and President of the
ORLEN Management Board.

Although a preferred CO2 storage solution for the Barents Blue project, the
Polaris Licence is expected to provide additional storage volumes for other CO2
customers.

A PUN partnership would follow suit to the European energy major E.ON’s and
Horisont Energi’s prolonged and extended partnership to develop a European CCS
value chain.

“We are very proud to be a pioneer in the field of industrial CO2 circular
economy together with Horisont Energi. For our industrial customers the Polaris
project can play a key role in achieving their net zero targets. As a partner to
our customers, we stand ready to shape this path” says Patrick Lammers, Member
if the Management Board and Chief Operating Officer Commercial, E.ON SE.

E.ON and Horisont Energi have previously signed a Letter of Intent for the
storage of about one million tonnes of CO2 in the Polaris licence. Together with
the two million tonnes of CO2 annually from the Barents Blue ammonia plant and
additional CO2 volumes in Northern Norway, there is a substantial commercial
basis for the development of the Polaris Licence.

The planning of the Polaris CO2 storage started in February 2020 and, upon
application to the authorities, was formally awarded in June 2022. The Polaris
licence is expected to provide the necessary storage capacity for Barents Blue,
with additional storage capacity expected for other CO2 customers in Norway and
Europe.

SANDNES, Norway 25 October 2023 - Horisont Energi (EURONEXT: HRGI) has signed a
Letter of Intent (LOI) with Barents NaturGass AS for a long-term purchase
agreement of up to 100,000 tonnes annually of clean ammonia from Horisont
Energi’s and Fertiberia’s Barents Blue plant.

Under the LOI the two companies will assess the market opportunities and review
technologies required to develop clean ammonia as an energy source for the
industry in Northern Norway. The companies will also explore the possibilities
of receiving public funding support from Enova, Innovation Norway, or other
relevant funding providers.

“Although the main market for clean ammonia will be on the European continent,
we also intend to serve local demand for clean ammonia with a filling station at
the planned Barents Blue plant. This is the first agreement for local delivery
of clean ammonia in Northern Norway, enabling the build-up of a clean energy
industry and emission-free last-mile transport in the region,” says CEO Bjørgulf
Haukelidsæter Eidesen in Horisont Energi.

Barents NaturGass is the leading reseller and distributor of LNG and Liquefied
Biogas in the Barents region, with an interest to expand its product portfolio
into clean ammonia and CO2 capture once this becomes available in the region.

The Barents Blue plant is currently being planned for an annual production level
of 1 million tons, making it Europe’s first large-scale clean ammonia plant. The
offtake agreement follows the signing of a joint development agreement between
Horisont Energi and Fertiberia earlier this year. In June, Horisont Energi
secured sufficient power supply for the first stage of the project.

The Barents Blue project has received a conditional grant of NOK 482 million
from Enova, as part of the IPCEI Hydrogen program.

News von gestern:

SANDNES, Norway 10 November 2023 Horisont Energi (EURONEXT: HRGI) has signed a
letter of intent (LoI) with VNG Handel & Vertrieb GmbH (VNG), a wholly owned
subsidiary of the German energy company VNG AG, regarding the offtake of clean
ammonia from the Barents Blue project in Hammerfest in Northern Norway –
Europe´s largest clean ammonia plant project.

As a major German gas importer and wholesaler, VNG H&V intends to purchase clean
ammonia from Horisont Energi as part of the LoI. The aim is to make the ammonia
available to VNG H&V's customers, particularly in the industrial sector, either
directly or in the form of hydrogen. The agreement sets out a long-term
partnership for clean ammonia supply targeting a quantity of 100,000-300,000
tons per year starting from 2028, corresponding to 10%-30% of the capacity at
the planned Barents Blue plant.

“The agreement with VNG marks another leap forward in the development of Barents
Blue as Europe's largest clean ammonia plant to meet the surging demand for
clean ammonia and hydrogen. We are also adding another strong new German partner
as we continue to build a clean ammonia value chain and are delighted to have
joined forces with a highly competent organization and dedicated team”, says
Bjørgulf Haukelidsæter Eidesen, CEO Horisont Energi.

Conventional ammonia production today accounts for approximately one percent of
global CO2 emissions, and the transition to clean ammonia plays a critical role
in the European Commission’s ambition to reduce the EU’s dependency on fossil
imports. Clean ammonia is also a crucial element in the ‘Fit for 55’ ambition to
reduce emissions by 55 percent in 2030 compared to 1990 levels.

VNG has held reliable relationships with Norwegian energy companies for over 30
years and will continue to work closely with them in the future. "With this
agreement, we are strengthening the German-Norwegian partnership in the energy
sector. At the same time, we are taking another important step towards driving
forward the decarbonisation of Germany. The demand for blue ammonia will
multiply in the coming decades, both as a hydrogen carrier and to decarbonise
fertilisers, shipping, and other industries," added Ulf Heitmüller, CEO of VNG
AG.

Combined with the Polaris CCS project, Barents Blue will offer clean ammonia
with a 99% CO2 capture rate and a correspondingly low carbon footprint compared
to conventional production. Horisont Energi targets a final investment decision
for the 1 million tonnes plant in 2024/2025, with estimated production start in
2028.

The agreement with VNG comes after Horisont Energi and Fertiberia recently
signed a joint development agreement for the Barents Blue project, and the
announcement in September that PIGNiG Upstream Norway intends to join Horisont
Energi as an operating partner in the Polaris CCS storage license. The plan is
for Polaris to offer the Barents Blue CO2 storage for its captured carbon.

Horisont Energi has already secured sufficient power supply for the first stage
of the Barents Blue project, which has secured NOK 482 million of funding as a
grant from Enova, the Norwegian government’s enterprise to promote a faster
transition to low-emission society. The funding is part of the IPCEI hydrogen
program, Hy2Use.

16.11.23 13:19
Sandnes, Norway 15 November 2023: Horisont Energi (EURONEXT: HRGI) today
publishes the Q3 report 2023.

Horisont Energi has made progress on its three major strategic project
initiatives this quarter; the clean ammonia project Barents Blue, the carbon
storage project Polaris, and the onshore CO2 terminal at Gismarvik.

“The activity level in the organization remains high and our projects are
advancing successfully, supported by robust partnerships with industry players
including Fertiberia, PGNiG Upstream Norway and E.ON. In the coming months, we
will prioritize efforts including finalizing PGNiG Upstream Norway's approval as
the operator of the Polaris project in dialogue with Norwegian authorities, and
we anticipate concept selection for Barents Blue in the first half of 2024,”
says Bjørgulf Haukelidsæter Eidesen, CEO of Horisont Energi.

The company’s cash position of MNOK 243,3 is satisfactory, and the operations
are funded until the end of 2024 at the current activity level.

Highlights Q3 2023:
• Signed Letter of Intent (LOI) with PGNiG Upstream Norway to partner up as an
operator in the CO2 licence Polaris (EXL003) located in the Barents Sea.
• In September Statnett was granted a concession to build and operate a new
420kV power line from Blåfalli in Kvinnherad to Haugaland Industrial Park at
Gismarvik, providing sufficient electric power to develop the planned CO2
terminal with an annual capacity up to 20-24 million tonnes.
• Exploring possibilities for the Barents Blue project to facilitate delivery of
blue power to support electricity demand in northern Norway.
• The most likely scenario being an externally owned and operated power plant
creating synergistic benefits for the entire industrial complex in Finnmark.

Financial result:
• Net profit (loss) of MNOK (39.9) compared to MNOK (58.7) in Q2 as the company
reduced its spending after the termination of the Errai project and
significantly reduced costs for both the Barents Blue and CCS activities.
• The cash position of MNOK 243,3 remains satisfactory and supports current
activities going forward.
• Horisont Energi will explore additional sourcing of capital to fund projects
when key milestones have been successfully met for the projects.

Subsequent Events:
• LOI for sale of ammonia to VNG, 100’- 300’ tonnes/year.
• LOI for sale of ammonia to Barents Naturgass 100’ tonnes/year.
• MOU with Koole Terminals for the development of CCS opportunities.
• Planned changes in the legal structure of HRGI. Horisont plans to establish
three sub-holding companies by business area, which will own the
project-specific companies. The approval of the new legal structure will be
requested at an Extraordinary General Meeting later this year.

547 Postings, 1648 Tage TailorCobainHorisont Energi & Koole Terminals

    #70
17.11.23 07:10
Sandnes, Norway 15 November 2023: Horisont Energi (EURONEXT: HRGI) and Koole
Terminals B.V (Koole Terminals) have signed a non-binding memorandum of
understanding (“MOU”) to continue their collaboration to explore the potential
development of a European carbon capture and storage (CCS) value chain. It is
the intention of the parties to develop and market Gismarvik, Norway’s largest
planned CO2 import terminal, with volumes anticipated to flow from a new CO2
export terminal which Koole Terminals is exploring in Rotterdam and various
other countries.

The MOU sets out the intention of the parties to develop CO2 import and export
terminals in continental Europe, including a potential Koole Terminals CO2
terminal in Rotterdam as a part of a larger logistics solution for CO2 and clean
ammonia. Koole Terminals is one of the leading operators in storage, processing,
and logistics in Rotterdam and other European ports.

The potential new CO2 terminal to be developed in the Port of Rotterdam will be
connected to the planned Delta Rhine Corridor CO2 pipeline, allowing volumes to
be gathered from several places on the continent, and shipped to carbon storage
terminals like the Gismarvik CO2 terminal in Norway. A potential Koole Terminals
CO2 terminal in Rotterdam could have an intermediate CO2 storage capacity of up
to 200.000 tonnes of CO2, accommodating transport of multi-millions of tons of
CO2 to carbon storage annually.

The MOU envisages that Horisont Energi and Koole Terminals will continue to
explore the joint marketing and development of a CO2 terminal at Gismarvik with
volumes transported from Koole Terminals’ planned CO2 export terminal in
Rotterdam and other European countries, as part of a European CCS value chain.

The intention for a Gismarvik CO2 terminal is to become an injection hub for CO2
before permanent storage at Horisont Energi’s or at other carbon storage
locations on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. With an anticipated maximum annual
capacity of 24 million tonnes, following design maturation and development, the
Gismarvik CO2 terminal has the potential to function as intermedia storage for
several CO2 storage projects. A fit-for-purpose CO2 injection solution and
system design has already been developed for the offshore part. Horisont Energi
has developed plans and started permitting for such a terminal covering
offloading from ships, temporary storage, process, and compression prior to
pipeline transport to subsea reservoirs for sequestration.

- “Our ambition is to build a carbon capture and storage value chain in Europe
together with our partners. A proposed CO2 terminal in Rotterdam is intended to
play a central role in this context as the gateway from Europe to Norway's CCS
market, both in terms of existing and new carbon storage licences. Koole
Terminals' strong customer base and experience in operating major liquid bulk
terminals in central ports of Europe is anticipated to aid in contributing to
acceleration of the establishment of the CCS value chain. We look forward to
continuing our close collaboration,” says Bjørgulf Haukelidsæter Eidesen, CEO of
Horisont Energi.

The Port of Rotterdam is the major energy hub for Western Europe, as around 13
percent of the total energy demand in Europe enters the EU through this Port.

- "Material progress has been made in enhancing our potential CO2 intermediate
storage capabilities at Rotterdam since our collaboration commenced. We
recognise the synergies in engaging in the potential joint development of the
Gismarvik CO2 terminal in Norway, drawing upon our extensive expertise in
managing terminals and logistics.”, says John Kraakman, CEO of Koole Terminals.

Horisont Energi and Koole Terminals also expect to explore certification
solutions to develop fully auditable comingled inventory control, emission
certification, traceability management, and trading solutions for CO2.

Horisont Energi and Koole Terminals extended the scope of cooperation to cover
clean ammonia in December 2022. The Parties share common values and are strongly
committed to working towards sustainability, decarbonization, and the
fundamental role of clean energy.
