Dort bündeln sich die Diskussionen seit Jahren, da es hier recht unübersichtlich ist und bei W/O eine sehr komische Administratormentalität herrscht.
Auf Englisch kann man sich bei agoracom informieren, das ist derzeit das vernünftigste Forum.
Kurzum: es dürfte bei Poet nun sehr interessant werden.
Also, vielleicht lesen wir uns bald im o.g. Deutschen Forum.
PS: ich war hier auch schon früher unterwegs, habe den alten Account aber nimmer. Bin seit 2011 in den Laden investiert und denke auch, dass die Chancen mittlerweile gut stehen, dass sich das lange Halten lohnen wird.
Sieht echt nach dem Oprical Interposer aus und wird von CISCO als optical connector bezeichnet!

POET Technologies Inc. The contract includes a nominal amount of Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE) funding to design optical engines based on the POET Optical Interposer for a 400G application, along with a Purchase Order for initial production units. The design and development stage is expected to extend through March 2021, with production planned for June 2021, consistent with the Company’s recently updated roadmap presented at its shareholder meeting held on August 26, 2020. The customer is a leading provider of optical networking systems for data center and enterprise applications. However, due to confidentiality, the name of the customer and the specifics of the end application cannot be disclosed.
Also highlighted at the recent shareholder meeting by Dr. Suresh Venkatesan, POET’s Chief Executive Officer, unprecedented levels of demand are driving massive investments in global internet infrastructure. 400G represents the next generation of optical interconnect solutions for data communications, now in the initial stages of adoption by cloud data center operators. Such demand translates directly to fiber and related optical devices, including for optical engines based on the POET Optical Interposer, a platform that integrates diverse components into a single chip-scale device at lower cost and higher performance.

(„POET“ oder das „Unternehmen“) (TSX Venture: PTK; OTCQX: POETF), der Designer und Entwickler des POET Optical Interposer ™ und von Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs) für den Rechenzentrums- und Telekommunikationsmarkt gaben heute bekannt, dass sie ihre DML-Designs (Direct Speed Modulated Laser) mit hoher Geschwindigkeit unter Verwendung einer DFB-Struktur (Distributed Feedback) fertiggestellt und getestet haben und diese Laser erfolgreich „umgedreht“ haben auf die Optical Interposer-Plattform des Unternehmens, die auch mehrere andere branchenweit erste Errungenschaften umfasst.
Die Flip-Chip-Montagetechnik ermöglicht die Herstellung einer echten, vollständig integrierten optischen Einzelchip-Engine im Wafer-Maßstab, was zur kostengünstigsten optischen 100G CWDM4-Optik mit der kleinsten Größe und einem Formfaktor von 9 mm x 6 mm führt Bänke mit vier Lasern, vier Monitor-Fotodioden, vier Hochgeschwindigkeits-Fotodioden, einem Multiplexer, Demultiplexer, Abgriffen zur Leistungsüberwachung und Funktionen, die eine selbstausgerichtete Faseranschlusseinheit unterstützen.
„Ohne die Flip-Chip-Laser könnten wir keine optischen Motoren im Wafer-Maßstab zusammenbauen, was der wichtigste Kostentreiber ist. Die Verarbeitung im Wafer-Maßstab ermöglicht die Produktion hoher Stückzahlen bei geringen zusätzlichen Kosten, wodurch wir letztendlich die Kosten für den Bau von Photonikgeräten im Vergleich zu herkömmlichen Ansätzen um 25% bis 40% senken können “, erklärte Suresh Venkatesan, Vorsitzender und CEO von POET. „Nach unserer erfolgreichen Demonstration dieses Flip-Chip-Montageprozesses kann POET diese Laser und andere aktive Geräte nun problemlos in abgeleitete optische Motorkonfigurationen integrieren und Datenkommunikationsanwendungen wie 200G CWDM4, 100G CWDM6 und 100G LR4 sowie Telekommunikationsanwendungen wie z 5G sowie andere Anwendungen, die von der geringen Größe und den geringen Kosten unserer Plattformtechnologie profitieren könnten. “
Vier DML-Laser werden üblicherweise in 100G-Transceiver-Anwendungen verwendet, einem wichtigen anfänglichen Zielmarkt für den optischen Interposer von POET, der eine optische Hochgeschwindigkeitskommunikation im Bereich von 2 bis 10 km ermöglicht. Die POET-Familie von vier DML-Lasern mit unterschiedlichen Wellenlängen arbeitet mit einer Geschwindigkeit von 25 Gigabit pro Sekunde (GPS) und ist der erste bekannte kommerzielle DMG-DML-Laser vom Typ 25G DFB, der einen Flip-Chip-Prozess zum passiven Ausrichten und Verbinden mit elektronischen und optischen Schaltkreisen verwendet die Interposer-Plattform bei optimaler Leistung. Angesichts des geschätzten Gesamtmarkts (TAM) für 100G-Transceiver von ca. 2,5 Mrd. USD geht POET davon aus, dass das kürzlich gegründete Joint Venture-Unternehmen SuperPhotonics Xiamen in diesem Binnenmarktsegment im Zeitraum 2024-25 einen Jahresumsatz von über 100 Mio. USD erzielen kann.
Die Flip-Chip-Montage elektronischer Geräte auf Leiterplatten, MEMS (Microelectromechanical Systems) und anderen Geräten ist ein fortschrittliches Herstellungsverfahren zur Erzielung einer elektrischen Verbindung (häufig als 2-D, 2,5-D und 3-D bezeichnet) in Halbleiterarchitekturen. Um die Vorteile der planaren Architektur des optischen Interposers von POET zu nutzen, die die Verarbeitung im Wafer-Maßstab erleichtert, war das Flip-Chipping von Lasern ein wichtiger Meilenstein in der Entwicklung. POET musste nachweisen, dass es gleichzeitig die HF-Leistung (Radiofrequenz) des Flip-Chips optimieren kann abgebrochener DML-Laser auf dem Interposer unter Beibehaltung einer niedrigen RIN-Messung (Relative Intensity Noise) sowohl vor als auch nach dem Zusammenbau. Die HF-Leistung bezieht sich auf die Qualität und Leistung der elektrischen Signale, während RIN ein Maß für die Stabilität der auf dem Interposer montierten Laser ist.
