WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- The consumer confidence index fell in July, marking the second straight monthly decline, the Conference Board reported Tuesday. The index now stands at 46.6, down from 49.3 in June, and was below expectations of economists surveyed by MarketWatch. Both the present situation index and the expectations index declined in July.
