Goldman Sachs - Nokia Downgrade

(Ausgabe 27) (27.06.2007/ac/a/a)

Nokia Intellisync Wireless Email selected as Rambler.ru's mobilityplatform

10:05 28.06.07

First Russian Internet portal Rambler.Ru will offer mobile email to mass market Espoo, Finland - Nokia today announced that Rambler.ru portal, one of the largest Russian Internet services and Email provider, has chosen Nokia Intellisync Wireless Email as their strategic mobile email platform. Rambler will offer mobile email, calendar, contacts and task synchronization services, powered by Nokia Intellisync technology, to its more than 20 million subscribers of Mail.Rambler.Ru. The service will be available as standard application during the second half of 2007. In Russia, only 5 percent of the population has broadband access* which makes mobile email communication an important service for many residents. The Russian telecommunication market is one of the world's fastest growing markets with a penetration of more than 100 percent**, meaning that consumers are starting to use more than one SIM card. "To answer the huge demand for mobile email in Russia in the long term, we needed a scalable platform that would be able to support a variety of devices - both smartphones and lower-end mobile devices with limited memory," said Dmitry Pleshakov, Director of portal, Rambler. "Nokia Intellisync Wireless Email, with its support for more than 100 different devices in addition to the Nokia Eseries portfolio gave us the scalability, security and fast route to market that we were looking for. I am confident that with Nokia we can deliver the most robust and user-friendly mobile email to our customers." "Rambler.ru's decision to offer mobile email service for their entire customer base supports our mission to provide mobile email beyond the executive suite," says Scott Cooper, senior vice president Mobility Solutions, Enterprise Solutions, Nokia. "With our offering we are reducing costs related to mobile email and this way giving consumers access to low cost, easy to use wireless email and personal information management (PIM) services". The integration of Nokia Intellisync Wireless Email solution into Rambler.ru's services portfolio is handled by Borlas Consulting Group. Borlas, one of the leading consulting groups in application consulting and integration in Russia, specializes in large business projects with IT-components in the region. "We have recommended Nokia Intellisync Wireless Email solution, as our extensive experience in the business market shows that this product is superior to other solutions with regards to reliability, scalability and device support ," said Sergei Gorkov, director of Mobile Solutions at Borlas Consulting Group. Nokia Intellisync Wireless Email is a part of the Nokia Intellisync Mobile Suite, which provides access to powerful collaboration tools such as email, contacts, calendar, device management and synchronization of files, data, and business applications. Nokia Intellisync Wireless Email works in any groupware environment -
