Die Nachfrage nach Cannabis im Freizeitbereich wird im ersten Jahr nach dem Meilenstein der Legalisierung vom 1. Juli 2018 700.000 Kilogramm überschreiten. Aufgrund der bestehenden Nachfrage hat Newstrike eine aggressive Wachstumsstrategie in diesem Sektor.
Seit Newstrike am 29. Mai 2017 sein RTO abgeschlossen hat, hat das Unternehmen seine potenzielle Produktionspipeline um den Faktor fünf erweitert. Wichtige Meilensteine waren:
Der Erwerb eines betriebseigenen Gewächshauses in Beamsville, Ontario, von den Westbrook Nurseries. Das Unternehmen hat die Genehmigung der Stadt erhalten, um den wachsenden Platz in dieser Anlage zu vergrößern, und zwar von 203.000 Quadratfuß auf fast 400.000 Quadratfuß.
Die Übernahme von Enderlein Nurseries, einem ACMPR-Lizenzbewerber im späten Stadium. Früher war Kanadas größter Hersteller von Gartenrosen, hat die Enderlein-Anlage einen "Letter to Build" von Health Canada erhalten und wird genehmigt, um mit dem Bau und eventueller Inspektion vor der Lizenz zu beginnen.
Diese beiden Anlagen bieten unserer Betriebsstätte in Brantford erhebliche potenzielle Kapazitäten, um sowohl hybride Hanf- als auch Gewächshäuser in Kanada anzubauen. Sobald die vollständige Cannabis-Produktion voll funktionsfähig ist, wird bis Ende 2018 eine jährliche Produktionsmenge von 17.500 Kilogramm pro Jahr erwartet.

NEWSTRIKE ANNOUNCES SHAREHOLDER APPROVAL OF PLAN OF ARRANGEMENT WITH CANNIMED
At an annual and special meeting of shareholders held today, Newstrike Resources Ltd.'s shareholders overwhelmingly approved the previously announced proposed plan of arrangement with CanniMed Therapeutics Inc. pursuant to which CanniMed will acquire all of the outstanding common shares of Newstrike. Of those votes cast with respect to the Plan of Arrangement, an aggregate of 271,880,416 Common Shares, representing approximately 99.40% of the votes cast by the shareholders at the Meeting or represented by proxy, were voted in support of the resolution. In addition, an aggregate of 239,517,680 Common Shares, representing approximately 99.30% of the votes cast by the shareholders at the meeting or represented by proxy excluding certain insiders, were voted in support of the resolution.
In addition to the foregoing, all other matters voted upon at the Meeting by shareholders were approved, including the election of all nominated directors, the appointment of the Company's auditor, and the confirmation of Newstrike's existing stock option plan.
The Plan of Arrangement remains subject to approval of the shareholders of CanniMed at a special meeting of shareholders which is currently scheduled for Tuesday, January 23, 2018, court approval, applicable regulatory approvals, and the satisfaction of certain other closing conditions customary in transactions of this nature, as specified in the Company's management information circular dated December 12, 2017, available on SEDAR at www.sedar.com.
