Ein Wert, der in USA explodieren könnte...!

und zwar schon bald!

Nach neuesten Gerüchten soll Goldman Sachs Käufer für Anteile des US - Unternehmens PSInet gefunden haben! Der Wert ist nach schwachen Zahlen mittlerweile von 88$ (!!!) auf 1,2$ gefallen. Der Buchwert dürfte aber bei ca. 5-8$ liegen, zudem macht das Unternehmen mehr als 350 Mill.$ Umsatz.
Nachdem Vorstandsvorsitzender zurückgetreten ist und Restrukturierung eingeleitet ist, dürften die News zu einer Kursexplosion führen...denn wohin soll der Kurs noch fallen?! Bis 0,0$ jedenfalls nicht!
Schaut Euch die Umsätze der letzten Tage an, ziehen stark an. Ich tippe auf einen Käufer Goldman!

bei fallendem Kurs bedeutet : weiter fallender Kurs zumindest kurzfristig !
 

 

ich denke der wet hatte vor zwei tagen seinen boden bei 1 $ gefunden ! die ist er bestimmt 1000 mal am tag angelaufen, aber nicht unter 1 $ gefallen, so daß es dann wieder aufwärts ging. und wenn man sich mal anschaut, was PSINet schon allein für sachwerte besitzt ( z.B. das eigene weltweite glasfasernetz ), dann ist 1,125 $ wie sie jetzt stehen viel zu wenig ! zumal sie ihre expansionspläne fortsetzen und gerade in berlin ein neues "internet-Hotel" eröffnet haben und dort 280 mill. investieren ! also ich stimme hier star ikone voll zu !!!! wer sich informieren will

warum der Kurs so eingebrochen ist ???  

Da muß ja eine oder mehrere schlechte Nachrichten dahinterstecken um einen Kursrückgang von mehr als 95% in diesem Jahr zu rechtfertigen.

ja bei PSINet verhält sich das wie bei vielen anbietern von inetrnetzugänge und der breitbandtechnologie ! durch schlechtere zahlen als erwartet schickte die wall street die aktie auf talfahrt ! die durch die anhaltend schlechte börse ungebremst weiter ging ! wegen dieses schlechten börsenkurses haben sich psinet goldman sachs "ins boot" geholt, um den kurs durch maßnahmen wie verkauf schwacher oder verlustbringender unternehmensteile anzukurbeln. weiter bracht frisches kapital um seine expansionspolitik weiter voran zu treiben!
es wird schon gemunkelt ( keine garantie ich weiß es auch nicht besser ... ) das die goldmänner schon intressenten gefunden haben ! aber ich denke wer hier nicht unbedingt short geht sondern ein wenig wartet, dann sollten auf 6 - 12 monate wieder kurse um die 12 - 15 € drin sein ! zumal die aktien jetzt noch für 1,55 € zu haben ist und da kann man sich ( denke ich ) getrost eine kleinere menge spekulativ ins depot legen ....  

dass PSINet in einem Jahr wieder bei 12 bis 15 steht. Die sind finanziell sehr stark angeschlagen (um es vorsichtig zu sagen), die Zukunft ist vollkommen unklar, die Vorstände sind scheinbar vollkommen überfordert, nicht der schlechte Markt hat PSINet runter gebracht, sondern die Firmenstrategie. Ich kann nicht erkennen, was an der Aktie kaufenswert sein sollte. Im übrigen empfehle ich dir den Text von Karlchen einmal genau durchzulesen.

Aber wer sein Glück versuchen will, der kann ja gleich noch Gigabell, informatic, ricardo oder escom dazu kaufen.

aber ruebe ist es nicht so das viele unternehmen zur zeit tod geschrieben werden ? wie war das damals mit apple ?
ich halte dieses interview sehr aufschlußreich und naja wie gesagt ist sehr spekulativ, aber ich bin hier sehr optimistisch !!!

PSINet: Don`t Count It Out

PSINet Inc. is fighting a strong headwind these days. At a time when a lot of carriers face financial difficulties, PSINet co-founder, chairman, and chief executive Bill Schrader is girding for battle -- fending off doomsayers on Wall Street while trying to come up with the cash to keep his company going.

By way of background, PSINet (stock: PSIX) stock took a nosedive earlier this month when the company announced third-quarter earnings that included a \$1.4 billion loss and projected low earnings in the fourth quarter. Wall Street responded with lowered ratings and questions about how long the ISP can remain independent.

PSINet, Ashburn, Va., went into fix-it mode, with promises to slow its aggressive build-out of data centers and fiber that are supposed to turn it into an Internet "supercarrier." PSINet also plans to sell off some non-core assets, including e-business consulting company Xpedior Inc., and pieces of IT consulting company Metamore Worldwide Inc., both of which it only acquired in June.

While Bill Schrader said the company isn`t for sale, the company announced Thursday it will work with Goldman, Sachs & Co. to consider strategic alliances or the possible sale of all or some of PSINet. It also said that a bank has made a margin call on 11.4 million shares of Schrader`s PSINet stock. After acquiring 74 companies in the last few years, critics charge the company with expanding too fast and into branching areas not related to its core bandwidth and access services for enterprise, wholesale, and dial-up customers.

Schrader has been busy rallying employees, shareholders, suppliers, and customers, while he contends with several class-action suits filed on behalf of shareholders. Schrader talked with tele.com about his fight to convince investors and analysts that his company is only in a slow patch and not just another gasping dot-com, while, at the same time, also keep his company running.

tele.com: Is PSINet for sale after remaining independent for 10 years?

Schrader: PSINet is not on the block. We have fiduciary obligations to treat a serious offer seriously, but we are not for sale. It`s a very messy market out there, and we have a lot of assets. Unlike most of our competition, our assets are bought and paid for and working. Our competition is still building and trying to catch up with us in the middle of what I consider to be a serious recession. What we have to do is stop building. Apparently Wall Street doesn`t understand our current inventory of fiber and hosting centers and they`re worried we won`t be able to maintain our growth.

tele.com: Do you have enough cash on hand to operate?

Schrader: If we maintained our growth rates from the plan we had already announced to the street, we would need more cash next year. If we don`t maintain that plan-and we`ve slowed it down-if we can slow capital expenditure for fiber and hosting centers, which we have done, we`ll be OK. Wall Street went a little overboard, and lumped us in with companies that are so near being out of cash that they thought we were the same. But at end of the third quarter, we had \$1 billion in cash.

tele.com: What about your debt-to-equity ratio? Do you plan to get that down?

Schrader: Right now all Wall Street cares about is survival for us. Capital markets are closed to almost everybody. We`ll handle our capital very differently than when capital markets are open. If we slow our growth rate down because we want to only focus on high margin opportunities, then we start producing cash, and the world changes. We don`t manage our company to the whims of Wall Street, but we do manage it so we have a proper balance sheet for stability.

tele.com: What will you sell off? What`s not core?

Schrader: There are some components of Metamore Worldwide and Xpedior that we always planned to sell off. Hindsight is 20/20, and in retrospect, the market went down considerably, so it`s not worth as much as when we bought it. That was our \$1 billion write-off for Metamore/Xpedior. Their entire industry dropped in value. Xpedior is doing a turnaround just like everybody else, and yes, it`s one of the ones we might sell off. We declared it a discontinued operation, and we hired an investment banker to assist us.

tele.com: Where does the build-out of your Pan-European network stand?

Schrader: It`s nearly complete. We have so much bandwidth over there, we won`t have to mess with it for several years.

tele.com: Would you say Wall Street misread or over-reacted to PSINet`s situation?

Schrader: Yes. They`ve listened to one thing only, and that is our need for cash. Given the environment, let`s be realistic. All telecom companies are trading at a 52-week low. Some big ones are trading at an all-time low, as are we. The technology sector in general is seeing a recession. Under all circumstances, those things would look scary. When Wall Street gets scared, it responds by reducing prices.

The second thing is, other than the recession, the election and petrol prices and disturbances in the Middle East, all make Wall Street nervous, as they should. It makes me nervous. It`s why we`re being very cautious. As are some companies who didn`t have a billion at the end of the third quarter -- and they might not make it.

PSINet beauftragt Goldman Sachs

Das amerikanische Internetunternahmen PSINet gab heute bekannt, die Investmentbank Goldman Sachs damit beauftragt zu haben, bei Kooperationen oder einem möglichen Unternehmensverkauf beratend zur Seite zu stehen.
PSINet hat zu diesem Zwecke auch einen speziellen Ausschuß berufen, welcher Alternativen zur Erhöhung des Shareholder Value erörtern soll. Die Aktie von PSINet ist von über 60 Dollar auf aktuell 2,03 Dollar zurück gekommen.

Im dritten Quartal erzielte PSINet Umsätze in Höhe von 352,5 Millionen Dollar verglichen mit 140,6 Millionen Dollar im Vorjahresquartal. Der Verlust lag im dritten Quartal bei 1,38 Milliarden Dollar.

ASHBURN, Va. (CBS.MW) -- PSINet shares fell 17 percent Friday on heavy volume, after rising 10 percent on Thursday.
On Thursday the company announced that it had hired investment bank Goldman Sachs to look at strategic alternatives. The company also announced after the closing bell on Thursday that a bank was selling shares pledged to it by PSINet's CEO, William L. Schrader.

NationsBank has made a margin call on approximately 11.4 million shares of PSINet common stock that had been pledged by Schrader to secure a loan. The bank is selling some or all of the shares.

The value of the shares that Schrader put up to secure the loan apparently fell below the $22.8 million of principal and interest on his credit line. A Securities and Exchange Commission filing in April documents the deal.

Doug Baj, spokesman for PSInet, said the margin call and the announcement with Goldman Sachs were unrelated events.



PSINet's stock (PSIX: news, msgs) , fell 34 cents to $1.66 on Friday. The stock, which set a 52-week-high of $60.94 on March 9, has been steadily falling since June.

The move partnering with Goldman Sachs could result in selling part or all of the company, whose ailing stock has been on a steady downturn since summer.

The provider of Internet access and Web-hosting facilities said in a statement that it has retained the securities firm "in analyzing and considering various financial alternatives available." PSINet had been looking for a investment bank to pair up with since Nov. 2.

Among the options are "a strategic alliance or the possible sale of all or a portion of PSINet," the Virginia company said.

Schrader said in the company statement, "We remain committed to maximizing shareholder value and believe that a review of all our options as we move forward is appropriate."

Goldman Sachs analyst Matthew Janiga said that his company was "restricted" from commenting on the planned review of PSINet's alternatives.

Analyst Vik Grover with Kaufman Bros. said he viewed the latest development as a positive move. "Ultimately, the writing was on the wall," he said, adding that such a process is best carried out while the company still has capital.

"These are the times to be buying the hell out of stocks you like," said Grover, who downgraded the stock to "buy" from a "strong buy" Nov. 6 and lowered the year-end target price to $20 from $57.

On Nov. 2, PSINet announced its third-quarter results, reporting a net loss of $1.38 billion, significantly wider than $82 million loss reported during the same quarter last year. Included in the latest quarterly results, however, were $695 million for discontinued businesses and $504 million for the impairment of certain long-lived assets.

Revenue increased over 150 percent to $352 million from $140 million a year earlier.

Klagen gegen PSINet aufgehoben

Die Aktionäre des Internet Service Provider PSINet sollten mit Erleichterung eine Gerichts-Entscheidung vernommen haben, wonach das Unternehmen von 14 von insgesamt 15 Anschuldigungen freigestellt wurde, welche einen Betrug der Behörden unterstellt hatten.
Die Kläger behaupteten, das Unternehmen habe seine Aktionäre über seine finanzielle Lage im Unklaren gelassen und getäuscht.

Richterin Leonie M. Brinkema sah jedoch keinen Beweis einer Täuschung und ließ nahezu alle Klagen fallen. Die einzige noch aufrechterhaltene Klage ist die eines ehemaligen Aktionärs der Metamor Worldwide Inc., welche von PSINet im März erworben wurde. Man beschuldigt PSINet, dass man der Übernahme nicht zugestimmt hätte, wenn alle finanziellen Details des Unternehmen bekannt gewesen wären.

verkaufe 50% mit schönem Gewinn ( über 60%! ) und sichere die 2. Hälfte mit stop-loss bei 0,71E. ab ( altes Tief! ).

So kannst Du ruhig schlafen, hast schon mal einen schönen Gewinn und wirst unter Umständen noch richtig reich, wenn Psinet den Turn-around schafft!

Das ist mein Tip, so mache ich es auch!

OK, habe 50% Verkauft Gewinn knapp 60% Kaufdatum war 27.12.00 man freut sich halt mal gern in den bescheidenen Zeiten. Den Rest,ist zwar nicht viel,lasse ich laufen, habe keinen SL gesetzt, Falsch??? an sonsten Danke...

TRD869: Setzte stop-loss so, daß Du noch wenigstens 30% übrigbehältst, dann kannst Du GARNICHTS falsch machen!
