American Superconductor: Wunderlich Securities equity analyst Theodore O'Neill reiterated a buy rating and $50 price target on shares of energy-technology company American Superconductor (AMSC) on June 18.
"We believe American Superconductor represents one of the best opportunities in a U.S.-based wind energy company," O'Neill wrote in a note. He said the company is "experiencing nearly two times the industry average growth rate," with revenue up 73 percent in fiscal 2010 (ended March).
"Although we forecast the rate to slow, we expect profitability to improve significantly," O'Neill said.
The company is on track to post $1.95 in non-GAAP earnings per share (EPS) in 2011, the analyst said.
Denke, dass der krasse Absturz des Kurses auf Grund einer übertriebenen Reaktion beruht. Nach einem Seitwärtstrend denk ich wird sich der Wert wieder konsolidieren und auf einen Mittelwert einschwingen.
"We published detailed records of the Mr. Douglas' transactions in the following spreadsheet. Mr. Douglas had a number of wins. "Smart money" comes to mind. Mr. Douglas has now invested around $270M in AMSC at a weighted average price of $28.26, making the current price appear attractive. His latest purchase was of 3M shares at $14.47 on April 6, after the bad news came out.

The firm issued a buy rating and a $3.25 price objective on the stock.
“We are initiating coverage with a BUY and $3.25 target. AMSC is a leading provider of proprietary wind turbine design technology, power electronics and smart grid infrastructure solutions.
American Superconductor (NASDAQ: AMSC) announced that ComEd, a unit of Chicago-based Exelon Corporation (NYSE: EXC) and one of the nation’s largest electric utilities, has agreed to develop a deployment plan for AMSC’s high temperature superconductor technology to build a superconducting cable system that will strengthen Chicago’s electric grid. The Resilient Electric Grid (REG) effort is part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate’s work to secure the nation’s electric power grids and improve resiliency against extreme weather, acts of terrorism, or other catastrophic events.
