SLAM acquiring additional interest in gold properties
5/14/2010 9:28 AM - Canada NewsWire

MIRAMICHI, NB, May 14, 2010 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX News Network) --

Signs Purchase Agreement to Own 100% of Miminiska-Keezhik Gold Project

SLAM Exploration Ltd. (TSX-V:SXL) ("SLAM") announces it has signed an agreement with an arms-length company, 1533687 Ontario Ltd. to earn the remaining 30% interest thereby increasing its ownership to 100% of the Miminiska and Keezhik gold properties. The property comprises 23 claims covering 4,912 hectares in 3 groups located east of the historic Pickle Lake gold camp where PC Gold Inc. (TSE:PKL) recently announced successful drilling results (press release 23 March 2010). The Fort Hope and Pickle Crow areas are underlain by Uchi Subprovince rocks similar to the world-famous Red Lake gold mining camp.

PC Gold Drills Record High Grade Gold Intersection, Cuts 43.28 g/t Gold Over 13.13 m (1.26 oz/ton Over 43.1 ft) in the New No. 19 Vein, Including 138.89 g/t Gold Over 4.00 m (4.05 oz/ton Over 13.1 ft)

Ottawa, Ontario – March 23, 2010 - PC Gold Inc. (TSX: PKL) is pleased to report that assays have been received for the second of two previously announced holes (press release, March 8, 2010) which cut thick intercepts of the newly discovered No. 19 vein at the Company’s Pickle Crow gold mine property in northwestern Ontario, Canada...

Highlights:

   * 43.28 g/t gold over 13.13 metres (1.26 oz/ton over 43.1 feet) in hole PC-10-052-W02
   * including 138.89 g/t gold over 4.00 metres (4.05 oz/ton over 13.1 feet) and
   * including 201.96 g/t gold over 2.02 metres (5.89 oz/ton over 6.6 feet) and
   * including 299.10 g/t gold over 0.48 metres (8.73 oz/ton over 1.6 feet)

SLAM Updates Gold Drilling Program - First Hole Hit Targets-Sampling in Progress
6/1/2010 3:40 PM - Canada NewsWire

MIRAMICHI, NB, Jun 1, 2010 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX News Network) --

SLAM Exploration Ltd. (TSX-V:SXL) ("SLAM") announces drilling in progress on its 2,000 m diamond drilling program in the Fort Hope area of Ontario. SLAM completed its initial hole KL10-19 drilled 40 m ahead of hole KL08-18 which intersected widespread gold mineralization at Keezhik Lake and returned gold intercepts grading up to 6.05 g/t over 1.5 m in 2008. The new hole, KL10-19 cut mafic volcanics to 17 m followed by 188 m of felsic porphyry to 205 m. From 205 m the drill cut mafic volcanics ending at 256 m. The 188m wide felsic porphyry unit has alteration/mineralization similar to that described in the previous hole. SLAM is sampling this entire 188 m unit for gold analysis.

The drill moved from Keezhik to Miminiska where 2 holes are planned to test the KCR zone where hole MK08-19 intersected 5.97 g/t gold over 2.0 m in silicified sediments. The new hole, MM10-01 will test the KCR zone at a different azimuth. This will allow the hole to extend deeper and test a gold soil anomaly flanking the KCR zone. Pending a successful intercept of the initial KCR zone target, a second hole is planned to test it at a deeper level. After completion of these 2 holes, expected on or before the week-end, the drill will move to the Opikeigen Gold Joint Venture, a 50/50 joint-funded project shared by SLAM and Beatrix Venture Inc. (BXV on CNSX).

The Fort Hope gold area is located east of the historic Pickle Lake gold camp where PC Gold Inc. (TSE:PKL) recently announced successful drilling results (press release 23 March 2010). The Fort Hope and Pickle Lake areas are underlain by Uchi Subprovince rocks similar to the world-famous Red Lake gold mining camp.

The drilling activities have been performed in consultation with Eabametoong First Nation ("EFN") in accordance with a recently signed Exploration Agreement. This Agreement calls for EFN and SLAM to work cooperatively to advance the gold potential of the Fort Hope area.

SLAM and Beatrix drilling at Opikeigen
6/3/2010 2:50 PM - Canada NewsWire

MIRAMICHI, NB, Jun 3, 2010 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX News Network) --

Diamond Drilling For High Grade Gold in Zone 12

SLAM Exploration Ltd. (TSX-V:SXL) ("SLAM") and Beatrix Ventures Inc. (CNSX: BXV) ("Beatrix") announce that drilling is in progress on hole OG10-01 on the Opikeigen Gold Joint Venture held in 50/50 joint ownership between SLAM and Beatrix.

Hole OG10-01 is expected to intersect Zone 12 approximately 12.5 metres west of a high grade intercept in hole OL87-46 at a depth of approximately 150 m. Hole 46, previously drilled in 1987, intersected an interval grading 6.22 g/t gold over 7.00 m at a depth of 141 m. This interval included high grade sections of 113.57 g/t gold over 0.1 m and 49.66 g/t gold over 0.2 m reported to contain visible gold. These intervals are drilled core lengths. The true widths are unknown. The results pre-date NI 43-101 regulations and can only be verified by additional drilling.

von mooreman, nicht das übliche blabla

Good observation, sydenham.  Like you said, these past grades are nothing short of spectacular, and SLAM is drilling a small step out from this historic hole.  Great first move on their part.

Like I've said in the past, the grades intersected in all zones (4) of Opikeigan are very high grade.  It's also worth noting that grades typically increase at depth (Goldcorp's Red Lake Mine, PKL's last Pickle Crow intersection are good examples).  In today's nr, the co. stated that they plan on testing the zones along strike and at depth.

Should they intersect some swell in the veins, which typically pinch and swell, then you'd get an increase in thickness of the zone.  There also has to be a more major source for these narrower zones, or a larger shear that these narrower ones may have "splayed off".  Again, intersect one of these zones, and there will be some excitement.

At any rate, the next coupel of weeks will be quite exciting to say the least.

Have a great weekend, SLAMmers.  There's lots to look forward to.
