9:00AM Polymet Mining statement on Environmental review timeline (PLM) 2.60 : Co announced that the state and federal Agencies responsible for review of PLM's project are working diligently to analyze public comments and recommendations in order determine the best way to complete the environmental review process. Prior to review of the comments, PLM had predicted that the likely time to completion of permitting was up to around nine months from publication of the draft EIS. Douglas Newby, PLM's CFO made a presentation on March 12, 2010 in which he described the key strengths of the project as well as the status of the environmental review. At the end of the presentation, responding to a question from an institutional investor about the permitting timeline, he gave an answer that may have lacked clarity; Mr. Newby subsequently made the following statement: "Since the end of the comment period in early Feb, we have received many questions about both the process and the timeline to complete the environmental review. The process is determined by the state and federal Agencies leading the work, so any opinions on the timeline are personal and speculative. However, in response to concerns whether a delay could be measured in years, I expressed my opinion that any delay is likely to be measured in months." In a separate statement, Joe Scipioni, PLM president and CEO said, "At this time, the company does not know what the process of completion of environmental review implies for the project timeline. As soon as these details are made known to the co so that we can determine their impact on project scheduling, the company will make a public statement." He continued, "The fundamentals of this project are unchanged and remain robust. We are confident that technical criticisms will be fully addressed when alternative plans and project changes are incorporated. Our construction budget makes provision for many of these alternatives and changes." He concluded, "The PLM team is steadfast in its resolve to complete this project, creating much-needed jobs, and helping to diversify the economy of northeastern Minnesota. We are also pleased that, after more than 11 hours of testimony in three hearings, the Environment and Natural Resource Committee of the Minnesota Senate has opted not to alter the state's non ferrous mining rules."  

es sollen 400+x neue Jobs entstehen und die "Grünen" haben wieder Ihre Zweifel....

das kann nicht wahr sein...ist klar das einige die Geduld verlieren.......  

ist nur schade das man auf höherem Kurs eingestiegen ist. Anfang Januar galt die Genehmigung noch als so gut wie sicher,dann kam in allerletzter Minute der Einwand,der Die Produktionsaufnahme mit Sicherheit nicht verhindern wird aber denoch verzögert und die Heerschar der Kurzfristanleger und Zocker aus dieser Aktie raustreibt. Die Genehmigung wird kommen das Land kann es sich nicht leisten auf diese riesigen Rohstoffvorkommen zu verzichten und die von Arbeitslosigkeit gebeutelte Region braucht auch die auf weitere sicht zu sehenden über Tausend (oder mehr) Arbeitsplätze. Wir sollten es als Chance sehen auf diesem sehr niedrigen Kurs nachzukaufen und somit unseren Einstiegskurs zu Verbilligen,was auch eine riesige Chance für Neueinsteiger bedeutet.  

kann nicht mehr lange anhalten die USA und die übrige Welt brauchen diese Rohstoffe, daran werden auch einige Berufsnaturschützer nichts ändern,vor allem nicht bei einem Unternehmen das so viel Geld in den Umweltschutz steckt wie Polymet.  

Für alle die die Zeit nutzen wollen um zu verstehen warum es noch etwas stockt und woran es hapert hier mal ein wenig zu lesen. Es ist schon etwas älter aber da geht es um Polymet und das Thema Umwelt.

PolyMet EIS � Path Forward To Completion Announced

HOYT LAKES, MINNESOTA--(Marketwire - June 25, 2010) - PolyMet Mining Corp.(TSX:POM)(NYSE Amex:PLM) ("PolyMet" or the "Company") announced today that the state and federal government agencies responsible for the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) reviewing PolyMet's copper-nickel-precious metals project will complete the EIS process by preparing a supplemental draft EIS that incorporates the proposed US Forest Service (USFS) land exchange and expands government agency cooperation.

The USFS will join the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) as a federal co-lead agency through the completion of the EIS process. In addition, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will join the effort as a cooperating agency. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) remains the state co-lead agency.

The supplemental draft EIS will:

Define and analyze a specific project alternative as it is expected to be built
Fully incorporate the proposed land exchange with the USFS into a consolidated EIS process
Reflect applicable comments received on the Draft EIS from the public and government agencies including appropriate recommendations from EPA
Integrate key project improvements, modifications, alternatives, and mitigation measures to minimize environmental impacts
LaTisha Gietzen, Vice President of Public, Government and Environmental Affairs, stated: "We are pleased the US Forest Service and the EPA are more formally involved in the EIS process. The agencies are actively engaged in planning an effective and efficient path forward to completion of environmental review."

Background
The PolyMet project comprises the Erie Plant and the nearby NorthMet copper-nickel-precious metals ore-body, located near Hoyt Lakes in the established mining district of the Mesabi Iron Range in northeastern Minnesota.

PolyMet began the environmental review process in 2004. The analysis is contained in more than 100 technical studies totaling approximately 14,000 pages that were the basis for the draft EIS. The milestones achieved to date are shown in the diagram below.

In November 2009 the DNR and the USACE published the draft EIS reviewing PolyMet's project, followed by a 90-day public comment period. The agencies received more than 3,700 separate submissions, including comments by the EPA and other government agencies. At the same time as the draft EIS was being prepared and was on public notice, PolyMet was working on a land exchange with the USFS, which holds certain surface rights at the NorthMet mine site.

The supplemental draft EIS will build upon the existing draft EIS by incorporating appropriate comments received on the draft EIS, include project improvements and roll in the USFS land exchange. The following diagram illustrates how the environmental review process will move forward.

PolyMet anticipates that the lead agencies will establish the timeline for publication of the supplemental draft EIS when they have agreed on all the details of the project. Once the supplemental draft EIS is completed, it will be made available for public review prior to preparation of the final EIS. Completion of the final EIS and a subsequent Adequacy Decision by the DNR and Record of Decision by the federal agencies are necessary before the land exchange can occur and various permits required to construct and operate the project can be issued.

ich denke, falls endlich die Genehmigung kommt dann ist das nicht utopisch...

Problem wird wohl nur werden, wenn im November glaube ich, ein andere ÖKO-Governeur gewählt wird !

Hm, bin seit drei Tagen um den Chart herumgeschlichen bis ich dem Braten traute; heute erst ein bisschen eingestiegen... vielleicht nicht zu spät... Aber von den fundamentals muss man sich wie immer erst noch überraschen lassen scheints.

1-----Übernahme ! schaut euch mal den Kupferpreis und die Meldungen dazu an ! (Chinatown?!, wäre die nicht die erste Mine die sie mir wegschnappen ! hatte Corriente Res. im Depot, auch riesiges Potenzial !)

2--- Hauptaktionär will alle Aktien und kauft enorm dazu !

3---(das wohl naheliegendste-----DIE DOFFE GENEHMIGUNG IST IN GREIFBARER NÄHE !!!!!!!! )

wenn man überlegt, wo die Aktie stand als der Thread eröffnet wurde, dann sehen wir, welches Potenzial die Aktie bis zum Jahresende hat !!

Thank you for your email. It has been a very long process for PolyMet working through the environmental process. I believe that it is taking longer than expected because PolyMet is the first company in the state of Minnesota to try to permit a non-ferrous mine.

We expect the cooperating agencies to make a statement in the next several weeks that will clarify the process and the time line, moving forward. Once we receive the necessary permits it will be approximately 12 months from construction to production.

so haben wir noch Zeit ein paar Stücke einzusammeln,dann dürfte nach menschlichem ermessen die Aktie aber richtig hochgehen,weil auch die jetzigen Preise dank dem Rohstoffhunger Chinas dann längst der Vergangenheit angehören.Es lohnt sich meiner Meinung auf jeden Fall diese ca.!5 Monate auszuharren,wer weiß ob der Startschuß letzten Endes was sogar wahrscheinlich ist nicht doch eher erfolgt.Gruß und schönen Abend Kalle 50 !
