First Metals Receives Initial Month's Revenues From Fabie Bay

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Jan. 16, 2008) - First Metals Inc. (TSX:FMA) is very pleased to report that it has received cash proceeds for the initial full month of production from its Fabie Bay copper deposit, near Rouyn-Noranda.

For the month of December, 2007, the Company is credited with having recovered 1,563,833 pounds of Copper, 251 oz of Silver and 12 ounces of gold, for total gross proceeds of U.S. $4,686,165.

After deduction of charges and holdbacks, the provisional settlement value is U.S. $4,286,810. On the final settlement date, when the provisional pricing will be updated to actual pricing, the Company will receive the holdback amount, currently estimated at U.S. $418,000. The Company also has received a payment of U.S. $375,075 for the 10 days of operations in November 2007, which more than covered the corresponding mill start-up costs incurred for that period.

During the month of December, the mine shipped some 26,833 tonnes of copper ore grading 2.84% Copper. Recoveries of up to 93.7% were achieved by the end of the period. Throughput at the mill averaged 866 tonnes per day. Measures are now being taken to increase throughput to the 1,500 tonne per day target and design capacity.

Mill feed was primarily sourced from the open pit portion of the deposit and supplemented from four levels of underground development.

"We are very pleased with these results to date and are confident that proposed processing improvements will further enhance the recoveries. We look forward to significant cash-flow and continuing profitability from these operations. A lot of effort and work went into making this a successful start-up and we thank all of those who participated and contributed." said C.E.O. Richard Williams

First Metals Inc. is listed for trading on the TSX and has approximately 39 million shares issued.

Globex: False TV ad Creates Uncertainty

ROUYN-NORANDA, QUEBEC, CANADA--(Marketwire - Jan. 22, 2008) - GLOBEX MINING ENTERPRISES INC. (TSX:GMX)(FRANKFURT, STUTTGART, BERLIN, MUNICH:G1M)(OTCQX:GLBXF).

I woke up this morning and it was -24oC in Rouyn-Noranda where Globex has its offices. Unfortunately, it was hotter in Germany in part due to a false ad headline on N-TV in Germany stating that Globex was possibly insolvent.

This is completely untrue and I would direct investors to paragraph 2 of Globex's press release dated December 18, 2007 in which I reveal our financial situation. The only significant change is that the value of our share portfolio has gone down somewhat due to the ongoing international market meltdown.

We have cash and are starting to receive royalty income from First Metals, approximately $100,000 this month alone. We are in good shape. In fact, we have probably never been in better shape.

Globex has suffered in the market from falling metal prices, shorters and a gold price that, although it went up, did not translate into gains for the junior mining and exploration sector. Now we are getting hit by this cheap shot by whoever posted the ad on N-TV.

We have contacted N-TV and are asking to have the ad removed. We will also consult legal council in Germany and the Frankfurt Exchange as regards this matter.

(TSX:FMA) is pleased to report that it has submitted an application to the Quebec Ministry of Sustainable Development, Environment and Parks and to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Wildlife, to extract a 50,000 tonne bulk sample from the Magusi Deposit, located near Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec.

The Magusi deposit is a volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) deposit located approximately 1.2 km from the Company's Fabie Bay deposit which has successfully completed its initial full month of mining, milling and smelting.

A $2.8 Million delineation program is underway and will continue through the spring on the main sulphide lenses identified at the Magusi deposit This 20,000 metre diamond drill program, being carried out with two drills, is designed to provide additional information on the structure of the lenses to the 600 metre level to allow for mine planning. The mineralization found at Magusi occurs from surface to a vertical depth of approximately 700 metres. Micon International Limited prepared an independent NI 43-101 Resource Report in May 2006. This Report estimated an inferred resource at Magusi as follows:

--------------------------------------------------
Area                Category     Tonnes   Zn (%)  Cu (%)  Au (g/t)  Ag (g/t)

(TSX:FMA) has submitted an application to the Quebec Ministry of Sustainable Development, Environment and Parks and to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Wildlife, to extract a 50,000 tonne bulk sample from the Magusi deposit, located near Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec.

In terms of contained metals, First Metals Inc. reports that the known lenses represent 71 million lbs of Copper, 197 Million lbs of Zinc, 80,000 ounces of Gold and 2.2 Million ounces of Silver assuming the sulphide lenses do not extend beyond the presently drilled area and that no new lenses are found in the ongoing drill program.

Magusi Baseline Environmental Studies have been carried out, the road to the site has been constructed and a ramp collar location has been drilled and exposed to bedrock. Hydro electric power has been brought to the property. Metallurgical test work is in progress at SGS Lakefield.

Globex retains a 2% Gross Metal Royalty and a 10% Net Metal Royalty on all production from the Magusi deposit as well as the Fabie Bay deposit.
