Entdeckung von Graphit und Vanadium durch Energizer Resources führt zu Vertrag mit Afrikas führendem Bergbauprojektentwickler, DRA Mineral Projects, zur Entwicklung des Green Giant Project in Madagaskar
Pressemitteilung - 25. Januar 2012

VP of Business Development Brent Nykoliation tells ResourceClips.com, “At 118 metres of 6.24% carbon, this is an excellent result. We have 17 zones. We’ve drilled seven of those zones, and the assays will be coming back over the next few weeks.
“We’ve identified what we believe to be a graphite camp. We can say that because we’ve identified 17 distinct graphitic zones, we have a cumulative strike length of over 320 kilometres. That’s absolutely massive. We already had a delineated vanadium resource of almost 60 million tonnes. That was in our original property of 21 kilometres and that vanadium represents only about 20% of our 21-kilometre trend. Then on top of that we increased our vanadium trend by about 50 kilometres.
“Our joint venture property with Malagasy Minerals MGY surrounds our original property on three sides. We hold a 75% interest in the JV and we’re the project operator.
“The JV property is significant for two reasons,” Nykoliation says. “First, we knew the vanadium was going to travel south of our border, so we made the deal to secure the extension of the vanadium. But second, we also found that graphite was in our vanadium trend. So in our 100%-owned property we have about 3.8% graphitic carbon with the vanadium. At that point, we understood that we had graphite on the property and much higher grades in areas that were exclusively graphite and no vanadium. Those areas have now been defined.
“Our property went from 21 kilometres to 120 kilometres long, and we have tied up about 75% to 80% of a very significant zone in southern Madagascar which is known for very rich graphite and vanadium,” he reports.
“There’s no other company and no other place we know of that has a graphite discovery of this magnitude—a cumulative 320 kilometres. There’s graphite and vanadium all over the place. As our VP of Exploration Craig Scherba says, it’s very rare to find those two together. So we have two strategic minerals in one source.
“We’re moving very quickly to delineate a 43-101 resource on the graphite. We need to determine where in the 17 zones we’ll delineate that resource. Madagascar has a rainy season that usually ends in March or April, and we anticipate getting back in April or May. We expect to have a 43-101 resource by July or August of this year. We expect to have a PEA completed probably by September or October, and then we’ll be in a position to have a bankable feasibility, along with a pilot plant project that would start earlier, by December of this year.
“The reason we can fast track this is our partnership with DRA Mineral Projects, Africa’s leading mine development firm,” he emphasizes. “DRA runs 29 mines around the world. They run mines for Xstrata, Rio Tinto RIO, Vale, and now they’re partnering with us. They’re the ones who’ll do our PEA and our bankable. In 18 to 24 months, assuming we hit all our timelines, we could have a mine open up. DRA could be our total engineering, construction, procurement and management solution for mines.
“So the question is, are we a vanadium company with a graphite credit or a graphite company with a vanadium credit? The answer is, we don’t know yet.
“The capex on a graphite mine is much lower than on a vanadium mine. So graphite might be the springboard to get the mine open. Then the revenue from that would help fund our vanadium operation,” he says.
“The vanadium and graphite are very close. In some cases they’re together, in other cases they’re a trend over from each other. So we could definitely mine two strategic commodities from one source. For shareholders, that means the opportunity for off-take agreements with multiple partners. We’re in a position to supply both the steel market and the battery market. We’re already in discussions with possible offtake partners.
“Our location is another huge advantage,” Nykoliation adds. “We’re close to the Chinese market. We’re perfectly situated for South Africa, one of the largest vanadium consumers in the world. We are ideally situated for Europe. Madagascar is an extremely mining-friendly jurisdiction. But it also has location, location, location.”
Nykoliation concludes, “We have a dual offering—two strategic minerals, one source. We have a very large project, and we’re fast-tracking it. We have a great partner in DRA and a great location in Madagascar. We’re uniquely situated in the market.”

TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 03/26/12 -- Energizer Resources Inc. (TSX: EGZ)(OTCBB: ENZR)(FRANKFURT: YE5) ("Energizer" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has received positive initial metallurgical test results from its Green Giant Project in Madagascar and that DRA Mineral Projects has made an equity investment into the Company.
Graphite ore samples from the Fotsy and Molo zones were submitted to the North Carolina State University (NCSU) Minerals Research Laboratory in Asheville, North Carolina for preliminary evaluations to define potential for recovery of commercial products. Simple mechanical crushing with no flotation yielded flake sizes of +50 mesh, which according to Tom Burkett, Vice President of Graphite Materials & Systems at SGL Carbon Group - the world's largest carbon company - is regarded by the industry as jumbo flake. Both ores have produced graphite concentrates at purities of +90%.
Both samples were subjected to beneficiation that included crushing, grinding, and various flotation schemes. A +50-mesh grind was utilized for the majority of the testing to achieve a high degree of liberation while maintaining a particle size that would be attractive to the marketplace. This testing recovered graphite in the form of oversize products at +50 mesh and flotation concentrates.
Data is still being processed and an initial report will be forthcoming by the NCSU complete with conclusions, recommendations, flake distribution summary and a preliminary process flow sheet.
Green Giant Outlines Extensive Graphite Zones
Energizer's Senior Vice President of Exploration, Craig Scherba, P. Geol., commented, "We are very pleased with these initial results. With the confirmation of jumbo flake graphite and +90% purity, Energizer has now met two more thresholds and when combined with our exploration results to date, make our Green Giant project quite unique in the marketplace. We have multiple zones with mineralization at surface, high grades, wide intersections and strike lengths that can be measured in kilometers, not meters. We are outlining a graphite camp."
To date, Energizer's Green Giant and JV Property contains 17 separate and distinct graphite zones, seven of which have been drill tested. The culmination of drilling, trenching, geophysics, geologic mapping and prospecting have confirmed graphite mineralization in all tested zones to be at surface, open along strike and at depth.
Drill assays have been received so far from two zones, the Fondrana and the Fotsy, showing high grades and extensive widths (FOND-01: 6.24% C over 118.6 meters; FOND-TH-11-01: 7.11%C over 106 meters; FOTSY-TH-11-05A: 9.93%C over 10 meters). Initial assay results are expected shortly from the Molo and Seta zones.
DRA Makes Initial Equity Investment in Energizer
The Company is also pleased to announce that a private placement transaction has been concluded with DRA Africa Pty Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of DRA Mineral Projects ("DRA") who has recently become a technical partner of Energizer (see January 25, 2012 news release).
Johann de Bruin, Pr.Eng, and Director of DRA commented, "Our current understanding of the quality of the graphite within the tenements as well as our understanding of the logistics associated with the development of a mine in the Southern part of Madagascar gives us enough confidence in the Green Giant Graphite and Vanadium project to justify moving forward with an equity investment in Energizer Resources. This represents a further commitment to the project and solidifies our relationship with Energizer since being appointed as their technical partner. It is our intention to increase our equity position as funds and test work analyses become available in accordance with the MOU. We look forward to supporting Energizer Resources in bringing this project to implementation and operation."
Kirk McKinnon of Energizer stated, "We are very pleased that DRA has decided to invest in Energizer. It certainly reflects their belief in our project and further strengthens our relationship. Their role of technical partner is a key factor in our ability to move the project from resource definition to production within a very short timeframe. As the importance of graphite continues to manifest itself, speed to market will become increasingly important in order to maximize shareholder value."
DRA has subscribed for 2,540,000 common shares of Energizer for gross proceeds of $635,000 USD. This results in DRA having an equity position of 1.6%. Under the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding ("MOU"), DRA has the right to acquire up to a 5% equity position in Energizer. Future private placements will be done at market conditions. The transaction requires final regulatory approval and all securities issued in this matter are subject to applicable hold periods.

About Energizer Resources
Energizer Resources Inc. is a mineral exploration and development company based in Toronto, Canada, which is developing its Green Giant Project located in Madagascar. The Green Giant hosts one of the largest known vanadium deposits and potentially one of the largest known graphite deposits.
The identification of 17 graphite trends, with a cumulative strike length in excess of 320 km, on the 100% owned Green Giant property and 75% owned Joint Venture (with Malagasy Minerals Limited (ASX: MGY) properties, have validated the Company's belief that the Green Giant Project has the potential to host a potential graphite camp. Metallurgical results to date confirm jumbo flake (+50 mesh) with over 90% purity.
As graphite and vanadium are considered to be critical minerals, the Company will position itself to both strategic partners, and the financial markets, a dual offering of critical minerals from a single source for energy and storage, as well as steel and other innovations worthy of development.
In addition to the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX: EGZ), the Company's common shares trade on the U.S. Over-The-Counter Bulletin Board under the symbol, ENZR, and on the Frankfurt Exchange under the symbol, YE5.

Energizer Resources Inc. (EGZ.TO - News)(ENZR.OB - News)(YE5.F - News) ("Energizer" or the "Company") is pleased to announce additional assay results from the Molo deposit on its Green Giant Project. The latest assays received from the Molo deposit confirm graphite mineralization is at surface, and extends to a vertical depth of at least 90 metres at grades between 6.9% and 14.6% carbon ©. The Molo graphite deposit is located on the joint venture (JV) property with Malagasy Minerals Limited ("Malagasy") (MGY.AX - News) in Madagascar, in which Energizer has a 75% ownership interest.
Focus Will be on Molo Graphite Deposit - NI 43-101 Resource Drilling to Begin Within Two Weeks
These latest drill hole assays continue to confirm that extensive surficial graphite mineralization extends to depth over the Molo deposit. As a result, the Company is now focusing its full attention and resources behind fast tracking the delineation of a National Instrument 43-101 (NI 43-101) compliant resource at the Molo deposit. Based on work completed to date, the Company is targeting a resource between 50 and 100 million tonnes within a grade range of 6 to 10% C.
This resource delineation program is scheduled to begin within two weeks and is estimated to take two months. The resource drilling will total approximately 7,500 meters and will utilize two Boart Longyear diamond drills, which are already on site. Energizer's exploration team, led by Senior Vice President of Exploration Craig Scherba, P. Geol., has previous experience in this regard, having already delineated a NI 43-101 compliant stand-alone vanadium resource of 49.5 million tonnes at an average grade of 0.693% V2O5 and an inferred resource of 9.7 million tonnes at an average grade of 0.632% V2O5, located on the Green Giant property.
Non-Compliant NI 43-101 Statement - The potential quantity and grade of the target graphite deposit is conceptual in nature and there has been insufficient exploration to adequately define a mineral resource in accordance with NI 43-101 requirements. Further exploration to define a compliant NI 43-101 resource will commence shortly, and although the Company sees no reason why a compliant mineral resource would not be defined there is no guarantee that further exploration will result in the target graphite deposit being defined as a mineral resource. The potential quantity and grade of the target graphite deposits have been determined through the progression of exploration methodology and initial metallurgical testing. This included airborne surveys, ground geophysics, mapping, trenching and diamond drill holes, in conjunction with assay results. The low range of the resource target is based on confirmed surficial mineralization and drill hole intersection assays to date. The high range of the resource target is based solely on confirmed surficial mineralization with no sub-surface drilling. Samples are collected in accordance with strict QA/QC protocols, and sent to accredited test facilities for obtaining assay results.
DRA Engineers to Begin Outlining Mine Site
Shortly after the commencement of drilling, DRA Mineral Projects will send an engineering team to site to begin quantifying data required for a Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) of the Molo deposit. During this time, DRA will begin outlining the mine site parameters, including production facilities and infrastructure.
Jumbo Flake Graphite at an Average Purity of 93% Confirmed
Preliminary metallurgical analysis indicates that Jumbo flake (i.e. +50 mesh) graphite at an average purity of 93% C can be easily liberated through simple crushing of the Molo deposit graphite.
This metallurgical insight, coupled with the wide widths and high grades quantified through assays, has prompted the Company to expedite and focus its full attention on the delineation of a NI 43-101 compliant resource at the Molo deposit.
Molo Graphite Assays Continue to Confirm Size and Grade
The Company has now received assay results from 5 of the 7 diamond drill holes completed over the Molo deposit. Of the 7 drill holes, 6 were drilled into the western arm of a fold, with a strike length of at least 2 kilometres, with the remaining hole (MOLO-06) drilled into a surficially exposed graphitic ridge 1 kilometre to the west of the central core of the Molo deposit. Of the holes received (MOLO-01 to MOLO-05), graphite mineralization was intersected to a down-hole depth of 108 metres, with composited grades ranging from 6.94% C to 14.63% C. The table below summarizes the intersections from all 5 holes received.

Additional Fotsy and Fondrana Assays Confirm Multiple Stand-Alone Graphite Deposit Potential
Energizer turned its attention to graphite in November 2011, and continues to identify new graphite opportunities on its 120 kilometre-long Green Giant Project. Through the completion of 29 diamond drill holes over 3,780 metres, 20 trenches over 1,900 metres, regional sampling with 670 prospecting samples, geological mapping of 3 areas, analysis of 3 airborne geophysical surveys, and the completion of 160.5 kilometres of ground-based electromagnetic geophysical surveying, the Company has identified over 320 kilometres of graphitic trends.
The Company has now received assay results from 12 of the 14 diamond drill holes completed over the Fotsy deposit, and 5 of the 6 diamond drill holes completed over the Fondrana deposit. Graphite mineralization was intersected to a down-hole depth of 138.5 metres, with composited grades ranging from 5.19% C to 12.16% C. The table below summarizes the intersections from all recently received drill holes.

Interview mit Dr. Dietmar Siebholz

Monopol
- Ausreizung der Monopolstellung, Einfluss und Macht dem Westen präsentieren
