HMK’s investment activities in real estate are creating value as the occupancy is continuously increasing as a lasting asset in the Company’s balance sheet. And even more important, the new housing units create a value for the population helping them to have a better live.
Lagos State, Nigeria, has an acute housing problem with an average household occupancy of about 10 persons. In addition, it has an average population density of 2,455 persons per square kilometre, much higher than the national average, with some areas reaching 15,000 persons per square kilometre.
“There is a housing demand of 40,000 units annually. Construction of low and middle income housing estates together with the State, who is providing land as equity and provision of mortgages”, as a way out of this undersupply.

The African State Government is engaged with setting up private public partnerships (PPPs) to solve this demanding situation in the housing market - especially helpful for the poor part of the population. The Government is providing equity in selected sustainable projects, giving tax benefits and is provisioning land to housing developers particularly for development of low cost housing.
Furthermore mortgages for the low-income population and Government guarantees are possible.

According primacy to this predisposition, Section 16(1)(d) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria under the Fundamental Objectives and Directive Principales of the State Policy, expects the State to “provide sustainable and adequate shelter for all citizens”.

Housing Outlook
A rebound of the housing market in Africa is guaranteed as the economy begins to pick up. A power master plan has been developed and is in the realization phase to solve power supply deficits.
A tangible increasing awareness for real estate, as an attractive investment asset class can be stated, hence the inflow of capital into the sector. The consequence is increased capital injection by property developers to tap into opportunities presented by the large unmet demand for housing. Parallel real estate and construction lending banks and other debt providers offer more mortgages and construction products following a period of lull after the banking sanitization.
The population and trade in the West African sub-region have still strong growth tendency. It is important for the population and economy that the undersupply in infrastructure is going to be solved. In this respect the extension of power supply and the rollout plans of GSM operators result in complementary infrastructure development in the near future. A momentum, HMK is making use of, being in a good position with its real estate occupancy and general impact on the market demand.
HMK’s investments are covering different types of real estate projects in order to provide the appreciated level of standard and pricing for business travellers, corporate customer arrangements and demands, business men and traders, as well as budget-conscious individual visitors. Suru Homes Ltd., the execution part of the Group for the real estate sector, plans to develop luxury residential properties and also low cost housing chain locations in Nigeria as well as chains of function halls through Nigeria. The Group has expanded its scope of operations by launching service apartments for let in United Kingdom, where HMK is the owner of 94 self-service apartments in the city of London. This apartment type caters for the growing demand of short let accommodation of international visitors staying in London.

In the hospitality sector the Group hast successfully launched a number of tastefully furnished three star hotels in the business district of the Lagos State, Nigeria. The hotels are run under the well-known international hotel brand: “Best Western”. The Group hast a strategic partnership with the Best Western Company and is their exclusive partner in Africa.
The hotels are professionally managed by “African Sun”, a South Africa company. The Group has dynamic plans to launch further budget hotels in Nigeria and in Lagos. In the medium term the business plan intends to develop and operate another 5 three star hotels under the “Best Western” brand and 45 budget hotels under the own “Suru Express Hotel“ brand.
Market situation: The hospitality sector in West Africa is underdeveloped. This concerns the number of total business hotels and regarding the quality standard the demand is obviously there, but there are only a few worldclass 4-5 star hotels.
Increasing domestic flights, increase of production capacities by Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) and the all over increase oft the population and expanding trade in the West African sub-region are clear facts. This is a future-proof business creating earnings on a long-term perspective.

The Group owns a local bank, named Independent Prolific Micro Finance Bank Ltd., which was incorporated on 11th of June 1991 by the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) with the registration certificate no: 1652221. The bank originally emerged from OGBA Community Bank Nig. Ltd., located in Lagos State. Later, based on a provisional licence (no. 0027), issued by the National Board of Community Banks (NBCB) the bank began its community banking business on 25th of September 2004. The paid up share capital of Prolific Micro Finance Bank Ltd. (its original name) results from 1,939 shareholders, including 100 co-operative organizations in Lagos State. Per September 2011 Independent Continuations Ltd., also a subsidiary of the HMK-Group, raised additional capital. In line with this development, the bank has proposed to shore-up its authorized share capital to enable the bank to play within the state-wide category of Micro Finance Bank (MFBs).
The bank is noted for her unequal business model and pro-active approach for divers demands of capital and different customer types. Ich denke und hoffe, dass wir diese Woche die 18 Cent nachhaltig nach oben durchbrechen werden. Danach liegt eigentlich kein Widerstand mehr.

erwarten wir ein charttechnisches Kauf-Signal. Die GD 38 Linie dürfte diese Woche die GD 100 Linie von unten nach oben durchstoßen.
Sollte alles so kommen, sehe ich persönlich in Kürze keine Kurse mehr unter 20 Cents.

Und die Zugriffszahlen hiet im Forum - auch am Wochenende - lassen zumindest mal hoffen, dass sich der eine oder andere noch rechtzeitig positionieren möchte.
Klar - oberhalb von 1 € kann dann nochmal eine ganz besondere Dynamik hier reinkommen...und dann sind wir schon tiefenentspannt.
Der Name der Firma klingt irgendwie sperrig ;-)

Es ist eine europäische PLC mit Sitz auf der Isle of Man.
Da ist es nur logisch, dass der Name britisch klingt.

Mal rechnen....
Irgendwo ab einen Kurs von 84 Cent hätte dieser Thread 1000 % Gewinn-Performance.
Das sollte innerhalb der nächste 6 Monate durchaus machbar sein.

4 Millionen Gewinn war für das Geschäftsjahr 2011.
Nach 6 Monaten in 2012 konnte man schon am 15.08.2012 verkünden:

Heißt nach nur 6 Monaten toppt man schon den kompletten Jahresgewinn 2011.
Und Freitag kommen die Q3 Zahlen.
Und da man die Veröffentlichung der Zahlen früher als notwendig bekannt gibt. Und man das auch noch per Presse-Mitteilung bekannt gemacht hat, gehe ich davon aus, dass der Gewinn weiter ausgebaut werden konnte.
Schon über 230 Zugriffe und unter den TOP 10 der meistdiskutierten Aktien.
Da kann dann nach Bekanntgabe der Quartalszahlen nun wirklich KEINER mehr sagen, er hätte von nichts gewusst und schade eigentlich...
